RESOLUTION NO. 82-464
A RESOLUTION CLOSING, VACATING, ABANDONING
AND DISCONTINUING THE PUBLIC USE OF NORTHEAST
4TH STREET BETWEEN THE WEST RIGHT-OF-WAY LINE
OF NORTHEAST 2ND AVENUE AND THE EAST RIGHT-
OF-WAY LINE OF NORTHEAST 1ST AVENUE AS ONE
OF THE CONDITIONS FOR APPROVAL OF TENTATIVE
PLAT NO. 1071 "MIAMI DADE COMMUNITY COLLEGE
NEW WORLD CENTER," SUBJECT TO THAT PORTION OF
NORTHEAST 4TH STREET BETWEEN BISCAYNE BOULEVARD
AND NORTHEAST SECOND AVENUE FIRST BEING MADE
A TWO-WAY STREET.
WHEREAS, the Miami Zoning Board at its meeting of May 3,
1982, Item No. 5, following an advertised hearing, adopted
Resolution No. ZB 70-82 by a 7 to 0 vote, RECOMMENDING official
vacation and closure of a street, as hereinafter set forth;
and
WHEREAS, the City Commission deems it advisable and in
the best interest of the general welfare of the City of Miami
and its inhabitants to grant the vacation and closure of the
street in question;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA:
Section 1. That Northeast 4th Street between the West
right-of-way line of Northeast 2nd Avenue and the East right -of
way line of Northeast 1st Avenue as one of the conditions for
approval of Tentative Plat No. 1071 "MIAMI DADE COMMUNITY COLLEGE
NEW WORLD CENTER," be and the same is hereby closed, vacated,
abandoned and discontinued for public use, subject to the portion
of Northeast 4th Street between Biscayne Boulevard and Northeast
2nd Avenue first being made a two-way street.

One objection received in the mail; two objectors present at the meeting.
Two replies in favor received in the mail; four proponents present at the meeting.
A RESOLUTION to provide for this Street Closure has been prepared by the City
Attorney's office and submitted for consideration of the City Commission.

of N.E. 4 Street which is located west of the west
right-of-way line of N.E. 2nd Avenue and east of
the east right-of-way line of N.E. 1 Avenue as a
condition for approval of Tentative Plat #1071
"MIAMI-DADE COMMUNITY COLLEGE NEW WORLD CENTER".
RECOMMENDATIONS
PLANNING DEPT. APPROVAL IN ACCORD WITH THE PLAT AND STREET

for the Miami -Dade Community College New World
Center. This closure will eliminate vehicular
conflict with the pedestrian linkage between the
two sites, while providing access for emergency
vehicles when necessary.
PUBLIC WORKS APPROVAL. The Department is in agreement with
the recommendations of the Plat and Street
Committee to close this street. N.E. 4 Street
between N.E. 1 and 2 Avenues, as recommended by
the Plat and Street Committee, should remain a
utility easement and a travel corridor for emergency
vehicles.
