HomeMy WebLinkAboutR-82-0440RESOLUTION NO. 82--440, A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING AND DIRECTING THE CITY ATTORNEY TO DRAFT AMENDMENTS TO EXISTING CHARTER SECTIONS 3, 52 AND 53, AND CREATE NEW CHARTER SECTIONS, AS NEEDED, -TO PROVIDE MODERN PROCUREMENT PROCEDURES WHICH ARE FAIR, EQUITABLE AND IN THE PUBLIC INTEREST. WHEREAS, the City Charter establishes the parameters within which the City prescribes procedures for soliciting and awarding contracts; and WHEREAS, said parameters as currently written and interpreted do not permit the City the necessary capability to insure that the public interest is served; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA: Section 1. The city attorney is authorized and directed to draft amendments to existing Charter Sections 3. 52 and 53 and create new charter sections, as needed, to provide modern procurement procedures which are fair, equitable and in the public interest.
