A RESOLUTION ACCEPTING THE BID OF D.M.P.
CORPORATION IN THE PROPOSED AMOUNT OF
$402,237.02, BASE BID OF THE PROPOSAL,
FOR NORTHERN DRAINAGE PROJECT E-52; WITH
MONIES THEREFOR ALLOCATED FROM THE "STORM
SEWER G.O. BOND FUND" IN THE AMOUNT OF
$380,824.02 AND FROM "FLORIDA POWER AND
LIGHT FRANCHISE REVENUES" IN THE AMOUNT
OF $21,413.00 TO COVER THE CONTRACT COST;
ALLOCATING FROM SAID FUNDS THE AMOUNT OF
$41,890.98 AND $2,355.00 TO COVER THE
COST OF PROJECT EXPENSE; ALLOCATING FROM
SAID FUNDS THE AMOUNT OF $7,616.00 AND
$429.00 TO COVER THE COST OF SUCH ITEMS
AS ADVERTISING, TESTING LABORATORIES,
AND POSTAGE; ALLOCATING FROM SAID FUNDS
THE AMOUNT OF $15,793.00 AND $888.00 TO
COVER THE INDIRECT COSTS; AND AUTHORIZING
THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE A CONTRACT
WITH SAID FIRM
WHEREAS, sealed bids were received May 13, 1982
for NORTHERN DRAINAGE PROJECT E-52; and
WHEREAS, the City Manager reports that the bid
of D.M.P. Corporation, for the base bid of the proposal,
is the lowest responsible bid and recommends that a
contract be awarded to said firm; and
WHEREAS, the Capital Improvements Appropriation
Ordinance No. 9353, as amended, was adopted on November 19,
1981, and monies are available for the proposed amount of
the contract, project expense, incidentals, and indirect
cost from the account entitled "Storm Sewer G.O. Bond Fund",
as set forth under Section V. Item B-6,and "Florida Power
and Light Franchise Revenues",as set forth under Section IX,
Item B-i-22, of said ordinance.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION
OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA:
Section 1. The May 13, 1982 bid of D.M.P. Corporation
in the proposed amount of $402,237.02 for the project

entitled NORTHERN DRAINAGE PROJECT E-52, for the base bid
of the proposal, based on unit prices, is hereby accepted
at the price stated therein.
Section 2. The amount of $380,824.02 is hereby
allocated from the account entitled "Storm Sewer G.O.
Bond Fund" and $21,413.00 from the account entitled
"Florida Power and Light Franchise Revenues" to cover
the cost of said contract.
Section 3. The additional amounts of $41,890.98
and $2,355.00 are hereby allocated from the aforesaid
funds to cover the cost of project expense.
Section 4. The additional amounts of $7,616.00
and $429.00 are hereby allocated from the aforesaid
funds to cover the cost of such incidental items as
advertising, testing laboratories, and postage.
Section 5. The additional amounts of $15,793.00
and $888.00 are hereby allocated from the aforesaid
funds to cover the indirect cost.
Section 6. The City Manager is hereby authorized
to enter into a contract on behalf of The City of Miami
with D.M.P. Construction for NORTHERN DRAINAGE PROJECT
E-52, base bid of the proposal.

ENCLOSURES
The Department of Public Works recommends
adoption of the resolution accepting the
c" bid received May 13, 1982 of D.M.P.
`-" Corporation in the amount of $402,237.02;
and authorizing the City 11anager to enter
into a contract on behalf of the City of
Miami for NORTHERN DRAINAGE PROJECT E-52.
Bids were received May 13, 1982 for construction of 30 local
drains within the area bounded on the north and west by the
City liTaits, on the east by Biscayne Bay, and on the south
by North 36 Street; and 12 local drains outside this area
by private contractor under contract with the City of Miami.
As reflected in the tabulation of bids, the $402,237.02 bid
of D.M.P. Corporation is the lowest responsible bid for base
bid of the proposal.
Funds have been allocated under the "Storm Sewer General
Obligation Bond Funds" and "Florida Power and Light Franchise
Revenues" for the estimated amount of the contract, for
project expense, for such items as advertising, testing
laboratories, postage, and for indirect cost.

Sealed bids for the construction of Northern Drainage Project
E-52, Miami, Florida, will be received by the City Manager
and the City Clerk of The City of Miami, Florida not later
than 2:00 p.m. on the Utli-day of May, 1982 in the City Clerk's
office, first floor of the-miami City -Hal 3500 Pan American
Drive, Dinner Key, Miami, Florida 33133, at which time and place
they will be publicly opened and read.
The work, briefly described, includes: approximately 31
proposed drainage structures in the area bounded on the north
and west by the City limits, on the east by Biscayne Bay and
on the south by north 36 Street, with 10 locations outside dis
area.

Works, 3332 Pan American Drive, Miami, Florida. Plans and
specifications are to be returned in good order and unmarked
within 10 days after bids have been received. For further

Those minority or target area contractors/shall businesses
interested in submitting bids are advised to contact Contractors
Training and Development, Inc. to be provided technical assistance
in preparing bid packages.
Proposal includes the time of performance, and specifications
contain provisions for liquidated damages for failure to complete
the work on time.
The City Commission reserves the right to waive any information
in any bid, and the City Manager may reject any or all bids, and
readvertise.
