Of the six openings, which were to be acted upon, two remain to be
filled. One vacancy was created by the resignation of Raul Pozo,
whose term expires on January 24, 1983. The other vacancy was
created by termination of membership of Charles Johnson by the City
Commissions amended Ordinance No. 9348 requiring City residency for
Board members. Mr. Johnson's term expires January 24, 1983.
The term of Board member Hazel Grant expired on January 24, 1982.
Commissioner Dawkins has nominated Mrs. Grant for an additional two
year term, which expires on January 24, 1984. (See attached memo-
randum).
It has been the practice of the Commission to grant each Commissioner
two appointments on the Affirmative Action Advi ory Board. Consis-
tent with this practice, there currently exist two new appointments,
one each to be made by Commissioner Dawkins an Mayor Ferre.
Section 1 of Ordinance 9139 provides for the City Commission to ap-
point members to the Board and in accordance with administrative
policy I am notifying you of the above so that your office may ad-
vise the Commission.
