Metropolitan Dade County Transit
Policy Council
It is requested that the Commission
appoint one of its members to the
Metropolitan Dade County Transit
Policy Council per the attached re-
solution.
The Dade County Board of County Commissioners continue to meet quar-
terly as a Policy Council on rapid transit (Metrotail) and Downtown
Component of Metrorail (DCM) matters of policy. Father Theodore Gib-
son was the City's representative until his retirement; no City Com-
missioner has been appointed as a replacement. This department has
a technical representative (Jack Luft) at Policy Council meetings,
but it is urged that the Commission appoint one of its members to re-
inforce the City's position on these vital transit questions.
It is further requested that this item be taken up at the next
Commission meeting on May 11, 1982.
