The attached resolution expands the initi,dl board of the MCAC from 5 to 7 members to include representation from the Dade County Superintendent of Public Schools and the Miami -Dade Community College. The Miami -Dade Community College and the Dade County Public School system have made a substantial commitment to the education and training of persons who choose tele- vision and cable television programming and technology as a career. The Dade County Public School system is in the process of developing a $7 million facility which can produce local programming and train local citizens in the use of television Equip- ment. This facility is located in the heart of Miami in the new Anna Brenner Meyers Educational Telecommunications Center at 172 N.E. 15th Street. The availability of this television communications facility will expand the capability to provide local origination and public access programming. This resolution also provides for the appointment of the Initial Board of Directors by the City Commission, once the institutions to be represented have identified the person whom they recommend to serve on the Board. This process should be completed prior to the June 24, 1982 Commission meeting. CM/ah 82--52"
