RESOLUTION NO.
A RESOLUTION RESCINDING RESOLUTION NO. 82-152,
ADOPTED FEBRUARY 11, 1982, WHICH REDUCED THE ALLO-
CATION AND CONTRACT PERIOD FOR DADE COUNTY SCHOOLS -
COMMUNITY SCHOOLS PROGRAM AND DADE COUNTY SCHOOLS -
AFTER SCHOOL CARE PROGRAM AND THEREBY REINSTATING
RESOLUTION NO. 81-1034, AS ADOPTED DECEMBER 31, 1981.
WHEREAS, Resolution Nos. 81-816, adopted September 24, 1981,
81-880, adopted October 7, 1981, 81-954, adopted November 12, 1981,
and 81-1034, adopted December 10, 1981, allocated $899,543 of FY
1981-1982 Federal Revenue Sharing to previously approved social
service agencies for the period October 1, 1981 - September 30, 1982,
to provide social services to City of Miami residents; and
WHEREAS, Resolution No. 82-152, adopted February 11, 1982,
amended Resolution 81-1034 by providing that the amount allocated
to Dade County Schools -After School Care Program be reduced from
$144,014 to $96,010 and that Dade County Schools -Community Schools
Program be reduced from $65,000 to $48,749; and
WHEREAS, the aforementioned Resolution No. 82-152, fur-
ther reduced the funding period for both the Dade County Schools -
After School Program and Dade County Schools -Community Schools Pro-
gram from October 1, 1981 - September 30, 1982 to October 1, 1981 -
June 30, 1982; and
WHEREAS, Motion Nos. 82-292 and 82-297,passed at the April 1,
1982 City Commission meeting, expressed the intent of the City Com-
mission to reinstate the amount of funding and duration of contract
period for the Dade County Schools -After School Program and the
Dade County Schools -Community Schools Program to the original fund-
ing levels and contract period of Resolution No. 81-1034;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY
OF MIAMI, FLORIDA:
Section 1. Resolution No. 82-152, adopted February 11,
1982, which reduced the allocation and contract period for Dade County
Schools -After School Care Program and Dade County Schools -Community
Schools Program, is hereby rescinded.

It is recommended that the City Commission
rescind Resolution No. 82.-152, therebv re-
instating Resolution No. 1034 as it was
originally adopted, providina that Dade
County Schools -After School Care Program
be allocated S144,014 and Dade County
Schools -Community Schools Program be allo-
cated 48,749; and further extending the
contract period through September 30, 1982.
At its April 1, 1982 meeting, the City Commission passed Motion Numbers 82-292
and 82-297, which expressed the City's intent to restore the Federal Revenue
Sharing funding level and duration of contract period for the Dade County
School -After School Care Program and Community Schools Program to specifications
previously established in Resolution No. 81-1034. This resolution provided
that the After School Care Program receive $144,014 and the Community Schools
Program $48,749 for the period January 1, 1982 - September 30, 1982. Subsequent
to the adoption of Resolution No. 81-1034, the City Commission, through Resolution
82-152, reduced funding of the After School Care Program from $144,014 to
$96,010 and the Community Schools Proaram from 548,749 to S32,499 for the period
January 1, 1982-June 30, 1982.
The attached Resolution formalizes the intent: of Motion Nos. 82-292 and 82-297.
Passage of this proposed Resolution will restore the funding of the Dade County
Schools -After School Care Program to S144,014 and Community Schools Program to
$48,749 for the period January 1, 1982.-September 30, 1982. Allocations to the
aforementioned programs for the period October 1, 1981-December 31, 1981, have
been provided through Resolution Nos. 81-916, 81-880 and 81-954. The total
FY'81-82 Federal Revenue Sharing allocation for the After School Care Program is
$192,017 and for the Community Schools Program is $65,000.
