A RESOLUTION ALLOCATING $1,340,944 OF EIGHTH YEAR CON,-
MUNITY DEVELOPMENT BLOCK GRANT FUNDS PREVIOUSLY APPRO-
PRIATED BY EMERGENCY ORDINANCE NO. 9 441 , ADOPT-
ED JUNE 17, 1982,TO PREVIOUSLY APPROVED SOCIAL SER-
VICE PROGRAMS AND ONE (1) HISTORIC PRESERVATION PRO-
GRAM FOR THE PERIOD COMMENCING JULY 1, 1982 AND ENDING
JUNE 30, 1983; FURTHER AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO
ENTER INTO AGREEMENTS WITH CERTAIN SOCIAL SERVICE
AGENCIES FOR SAID APPROVED PROJECTS.
WHEREAS, the City Commission adopted Resolution No. 82-290 on April 1,
1982, thereby authorizing the City Manager to submit a nrant application
to the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development for the proposed
Community Development Block Grant Program during 1982-83, and
WHEREAS, funds have previously been appropriated by Emergency Ordinance
No. 9441 , passed and adopted June 1A 1982, and
N0I4, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI,
FLORIDA:
Section 1. $1,340,944 of Eighth Year Community Development Block Grant
funds, previously appropriated by Emergency Ordinance No. 9441
adopted June 17, 1982, are hereby allocated as specified below:

Section 2. The City Manager is hereby authorized to enter into contract
with the aforementioned social service agencies for their respective projects,
subject to City - specified conditions and limitations.

ENCLOSURES
It is recommended that the City Commission
adopt a resolution allocating 8th Year Com-
munity Development Block Grant Funds to
previously approved social service agencies
for the period covering July 1, 1982 - June
30, 1982.
Funding for these agencies is included in the City's 8th Year Community Develop-
ment Block Grant application to the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Develop-
ment (HUD), which was approved by the City Commission April 1, 1982 (Resolution
No. 81-290).
The City Commission will also be voting on an emergency ordinance at the June 17,
1982 meeting which appropriates $9,625,000 for the Community Development Block
Grant (Eighth Year). From the aforementioned figure, $1,340,944 has been ap-
propriated for social service agencies.
Pending the adoption of the emergency ordinance, it is recommended that the City
Commission adopt the attached Resolution at its June 17, 1982 Commission Meeting.
Resolution attached.
Failure to adopt this resolution will result in the tertmination of these social ser-
vice programs on July 1, 1982.
