AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 1
OF ORDINANCE No. 9353p ADOPTED
NOVEMBER 15o 1981, THE CITY'S
CAPITAL IMPROVEMENT APPROPRIATIONS
ORDINANCE FOR FISCAL YEAR 1081-82;
AS AMENDED; BY INCREASING APPRO=
PAIATIONS FOR RENOVATION OF GENERAL
ACCOUNTING (ITEM IX.B,(I),234) IN
THE AMOUNT OF $25,000 FROM $400,000 TO
$425t000 FROM AVAILABLE FY' 1982 FLORIDA
POWER AND LIGHT FRANCHISE EARINING'
IN THE CAPITAL IMPROVEMENT FUND;
CONTAINING A REPEALER PROVISION
AND StVERABILITY CLAUSE; AND
DISPENSING WITH THE REQUIREMENT OF
READING SAME ON TWO,SEPARATE DAYS
BY A VOTE OF NOT LESS THAN FOUR -FIFTHS
OF THE MEMBERS OF THE COMMISSION:
WHEREAS, the City Commission adopted Ordinance
No. 9353 on November 19, 1981, establishing resources
and appropriations for the implementation of capital
improvements in the City of Miami, Florida, for the
Fiscal Year ending September 30, 1982; and
WHEREAS, the City Commission adopted ordinance
No. 9365 on January 14, 1982, authorizing an increase
in appropriations for the Renovation of General Accounting
project from $240,000 to $400,000; and
WHEREAS, the additional funds were required to cover
increased costs of construction, furniture, relocation-
expens es, and renovation expenses at Fire Station 15,
where the General Accounting Division is temporarily located
while remodeling is underway at the permanent offices in
City Hall; and
WHEREAS, an additional $20,000 is now required

to cover the cost of repairing roof leaks at Fire Station
15; and
WHEREAS,'an additional $5,000 is now required to
cover the cost of changeordersin the remodeling of the
General Accounting Offices at City Hall that were not
anticipated in the original renovation plans; and
WHEREAS, the amount of $25,000 is available from
1982 Florida Power and Light Franchise Earnings in the
Cap
ital Improvement Fund and can be appropriated to pay
for the aforementioned expenditures so that the Reno-
vation of General Acdounting Capital Project may be
completed on schedule;
NOW, TnEREFORE, 8t IT ORDAINED BY T14E COMMISSION
OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA:
Section 16 Section 1 of Ordinance No. 9353
adopted November 15, 19811 is hereby further amended

in the following particulars:l/
"Section 1. The following appropriations
hereby made by fund and project title
include previously authorized projects
and fund appropriations for implementation
of all municipal capital improvements of
the City of Miami, Florida. The sources
of revenue to support the herein appro-
priations are hereby identified by fund
and project".

Section 2, All ordinances or parts of ordinances
insofar as they are inconsistent or in conflict with the
provisions of this ordinance are hereby repealed,
Section 34 if any section, part of section, paragraph,
clauses phrase or word of this ordinance is declared invalid,
the remaining provisions of this ordinance shall not be
affected.
Section 4, The requirement of reading this ordinance
on two separate days is hereby dispensed with by a vote of
not less than four -fifths of the members of this Commission.

It is recommended that the attached
Amendment to Capital Improvements
Appropriations Ordinance No. 9353,_
adopted November 19, 1981, as amended,
be approved to increase Appropriation s
for the Renovation of General Account-
ing in the amount of $25,000, from
$400,000 to $425,000, from available
FY 1982 Florida Power and Light
Franchise Earnings.
Renovation of the General Accounting offices at City,Hall is
presently.underway at a cost of $400,000 that includes the =
renovation expenses at the Fire Station 15 where the General
Accounting Division is temporarily located. An additional
$25,000.is now required to complete the project. An amount
of $20,000 is needed to cover the cost of repairing roof
leaks at Fire Station 15 and $5,000 is needed to pay for.
change orders in the remodeling of. the General Accounting
offices at City Hall that were not anticipated in the original
renovation plans.
It is recommended that appropriations for the Renovation of
General Accounting be increased by a total amount of $25,000,
from $400,000 to $425,000, to'pay for the above described
expenses. An amount of $25,000 is available from FY 1982
Florida Power and Light Franchise Earnings in the Capital.
Improvement Fund.
It is requested that this ordinance be,scheduled on the City
Commission meeting of,June 17, 1982.
