W. 10TH AVENUE BETWEEN THE SOUTH RIGHT-OF=WAY LINE OF N.W. 17TH STREET TO A POINT +808' NORTH OF SAID RIGHT OP -WAY LINE, (b) N. W. t7TH STREET BETWEEN THE WEST RIGHT`OF-WAY LINE OF N, W. 9TH AVENUE AND THE EAST RIGHT -OP -WAY LINE OF N. W. 10TH AVENUE; (c) N, W. 18TH STREET BETWEEN THE WEST RIGHT-OF-WAY LINE OF N, W. 9TH AVENUE AND THE EAST RIGHT -=OF- WAY LINE OF N. W. IOTH AVENUE, ALL THE ABOVE AS A CONDITION FOR APPROVAL OF TENTATIVE PLAT #1103 "HIGHLAND PARK DRIVE SECTION ONE" WHEREAS, the PHiami Zoning Board at its meeting of September 14, 1981, Item #1, following an advertised hearing, adopted Reso- lutions (a) ZB 151-81, (b) ZB 152-81, and (c) ZB 153-81 by 4 to 2 vote RECOMMENDING official vacation and closure of a street, as hereinafter set forth; and WHEREAS, the City Commission deems it advisable and in the best interest of the general welfare of the City of Miami and its inhabitants to grant the vacation and closure of the street in question: NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA: Section 1. (a) N. W. loth Avenue between the south right- of-way line of N. W. 17th Street to a point + 808' north of said right-of-way line; (b) N. W. 17th Street between the west right -of way line of N. W. 9th Avenue and the east right-of-way line of N. W. loth Avenue; (c) N. W. 18th Street between the west right-of- way line of N. W. 9th Avenue and the east right-of-way line of N. W. loth Avenue, all of the above as a condition for approval of Tentative Plat #1103 - "HIGHLAND PARK DRIVE SECTION ONE", be and the same is hereby closed, vacated, abandoned and discontinued for public use. A RESOLUTION to provide for this Street Closure has been prepared by the Cif orney's office and submitted for consideration of the City Commission. The closure of these portions 82-5 o C of N.W. loth Avenue and N.W. 17th and l8th Streets has been planned for several years in order to provide for more unified development �I within the Jackson Memorial Hospital/Civic k Center area. Such a closure was proposed in the Hospital`s 1976 Master Plan and in several subsequent studies of the area, Closure of these rights -of -way would permit a more unified development of support facilities for the Hospital of the properties Bast of N.W. lOth Avenue with a major pedestrian linkage in_the form of a mall to the hospital itself. If the mall and the new support facilities are properly designed, the right-of-way closures will greatly benefit the City. i PUBLIC WORKS Dedication is requested by plat, D.O.T.T. The Department of Traffic and Transportation has no objection to this proposal provided replacement road for N.W. loth Avenue is constructed and dedicated, ZONING BOARD RECOMMENDED APPROVAL on September 14, 1981 Resolutions: ZB 151-81, ZB 152-81 & ZB 153-81 by 4 to 2 votes.
