S06.0 .a A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO TRANSFER CITY LAND RIGHTS TO THE DADE COUNTY OFFICE OF TRANSPORTATION (OTA), OF A PORTION OF LAND COMPRISED OF 2,850 ± SQUARE FEET, PURCHASED CO -JOINTLY WITH DADE COUNTY HUD ON A 60% CITY/40% COUNTY COST BASIS, FOR USAGE AS PART OF STAGE I OF THE RAIL RAPID TRANSIT SYSTEM; AND TO ACCEPT 60% LAND RIGHTS OF A PARCEL COM- PRISED OF 2,562 ± SQUARE FEET, PLUS TWO THOUSAND FOUR HUNDRED AND TWENTY-THREE DOLLARS ($2,423) AS FULL COMPENSATION. WHEREAS, certain parcels of land in the Overtown sec- tion of the City of Miami (Overtown), identified as Parcels No. 7N200.48, .49 and .51 at Line Section Five, were ac- quired by Dade County HUD in a joint effort with the City of Miami on a 60% City/40% County cost basis; and WHEREAS, said certain parcels of land in Overtown were acquired in complete agreement with the Overtown Redevelop- ment Plan; and WHEREAS, 2,850 square feet, more or less, of said certain parcels of land in Overtown are required for Stage I of the Rail Rapid Transit System; and WHEREAS, Parcel No. 7N200.50 at Line Section Five in Overtown is planned for acquisition by Dade County HUD in a joint effort with the City of Miami; and WHEREAS, the acquisition of said parcel in Overtown is necessary for the development of the site and is in full accord with the Overtown Redevelopment Plan; and WHEREAS, said parcel in Overtown is fully owned by Dade County OTA; and WHEREAS, this land swap is mutually beneficial to both parties. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA: Section 1. The City Manager is hereby authorized to transfer City land rights of 2,850 ± square feet of certain CITY COMMISSION MEETING 08 JULLJ o %J&J . parcels of land in Overtown identified as Parcels No. 7N200.48, .49 and .51 at Line Section Five, to Dade County Office of Transportation for usage as part of the Stage I of the Rail Rapid Transit System. Section 2. The City Manager is hereby authorized to accept 60% land rights of 2,562 ± square feet of Parcel No. 7N200.50 at Line Section Five, plus Two Thousand Four Hundred and Twenty -Three Dollars ($2,423) as full compensa- tion. Gar2 ���ij '' 37 ;TE June 18, 1982 -,LE City Manager Request for Approval to Trade Land Rights with Dade County Office of Transportation Dena Spillman -- °-�� _°��City Commission Agenda - - Director July 22, 1982 = Community Development It is recommended that a Resolution be approved, authorizing the City Manager �. to transfer City Land Rights to Dade County OTA, of a portion of land pur- chased co -jointly with Dade County HUD on a 60% City/40% County cost basis, h, in agreement with the Overtown Redevel- opment Plan, comprised of 2,850 square =� feet,.more or less, for usage as part of the Stage I of the Rail Rapid n Transit System; and to accept 60% land rights of a parcel comprised of 2,562 square feet, more or less, plus two thousand four hundred and twenty-three dollars ($2,423) as full compensation. The Department of Community Development in full agreement with the Overtown Redevelopment Plan has co -jointly with Dade County on a 60% City/40o County cost basis, funded the acquisition of most of the parcels in the block north of the Overtown mass transit station. Portions of these parcels identified by Dade County OTA as Parcels No. 7N200.48, .49 and .51, are required for Stage I of the Rail Rapid Transit System. The total square footage needed from these three parcels by Dade County OTA is 2,850 square feet, more or less. A fourth parcel in the same block, which the City co -jointly with Dade County is interested in purchasing, is owned entirely by Dade County OTA. This parcel is identified as Parcel No. 7N200.50. OTA needs 188 square feet of this fourth parcel for Stage I of the Rail Rapid Transit System. - Dade County OTA is interested in obtaining full ownership of the 2,850 square feet of the three parcels identified above. They are willing to trade for the 2,850 square feet of the three parcels, their Parcel No. 7N200.50 less the 188 square feet which they need; A Howard V. In addition, they would pay $2,423.00 full compensation for the City's pro rata participa- tion in funding the north block acquisition. This trade, in effect, will give OTA the land it needs for the Rail Rapid alignment, and in return the County will give their ownership of one parcel of the north block for the City and County joint re- development, plus $2,423.00 to the City.
