Community Development
It is recommended that a Resolution be
approved, authorizing the City Manager
. to transfer City Land Rights to Dade
County OTA, of a portion of land pur-
chased co -jointly with Dade County HUD
on a 60% City/40% County cost basis,
h, in agreement with the Overtown Redevel-
opment Plan, comprised of 2,850 square
= feet,.more or less, for usage as part
of the Stage I of the Rail Rapid
n Transit System; and to accept 60% land
rights of a parcel comprised of 2,562
square feet, more or less, plus two
thousand four hundred and twenty-three
dollars ($2,423) as full compensation.
The Department of Community Development in full agreement with the
Overtown Redevelopment Plan has co -jointly with Dade County on a
60% City/40o County cost basis, funded the acquisition of most of
the parcels in the block north of the Overtown mass transit station.
Portions of these parcels identified by Dade County OTA as Parcels
No. 7N200.48, .49 and .51, are required for Stage I of the Rail
Rapid Transit System. The total square footage needed from these
three parcels by Dade County OTA is 2,850 square feet, more or less.
A fourth parcel in the same block, which the City co -jointly with
Dade County is interested in purchasing, is owned entirely by Dade
County OTA. This parcel is identified as Parcel No. 7N200.50. OTA
needs 188 square feet of this fourth parcel for Stage I of the Rail
Rapid Transit System. -
Dade County OTA is interested in obtaining full ownership of the
2,850 square feet of the three parcels identified above. They are
willing to trade for the 2,850 square feet of the three parcels,
their Parcel No. 7N200.50 less the 188 square feet which they need;

that is, 2,462 square feet approximately. In addition, they would
pay $2,423.00 full compensation for the City's pro rata participa-
tion in funding the north block acquisition.
This trade, in effect, will give OTA the land it needs for the Rail
Rapid alignment, and in return the County will give their ownership
of one parcel of the north block for the City and County joint re-
development, plus $2,423.00 to the City. (Please see attached map).
