RESOLUTION NO.
A RESOLUTION ALLOCATING A SUM NOT TO EXCEED
$90,000 FROM SPECIAL PROGRAMS AND ACCOUNTS -
CONTINGENT FUND, TO THE AMERICAN SOCIETY OF
TRAVEL AGENTS (A.S.T.A.) TO HELP DEFRAY THE
COST OF THE 1982 A.S.T.A. 52ND ANNUAL WORLD
CONGRESS TO BE HELD DURING OCTOBER, 1982, AT
THE COCONUT GROVE EXHIBITION HALL AND THE
CITY OF MIAMI/UNIVERSITY OF MIAMI JAMES L.
KNIGHT INTERNATIONAL CENTER, AS OUTLINED IN
THE ATTACHED MEMORANDUM FROM THE MIAMI CON-
VENTION CENTER DATED 7/20/82.
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITE: OF MIAMI, FLORIDA:
Section 1. A sum not to exceed $90,000 is hereby allo-
cated from Special Programs and Accounts - Contingent Fund,
to the American Society of Travel Agents (A.S.T.A.) to help
defray the cost of the 1982 A.S.T.A. 52nd Annual World Congress
to be held during October, 1982, at the Coconut Grove Exhibition
Hall and the City of Miami/University of Miami James L. Knight
International Center, as outlined in the attached Memorandum
from the Miami Convention Bureau dated 7/20/82.
Section 2. A.S.T.A. shall submit to the City Manager,
within 30 days from the date of use of said facilities, a
detailed accounting of gross funds received by it by way of
facility admission fees and funds raised in connection with
the aforesaid event, together with a detailed accounting of
funds disbursed, including the manner in which net profits, if any,
are to be disbursed, together with a statement of the sums
disbursed.

I respectfully request that the Law Department prepare a resolution
to the City Commission as follows:
A resolution be prepared requesting funding not to
exceed $90,000 in support of the American Society
of Travel Agents World Congress, due to take place
in Miami from the loth through the 16th of October,
1982. This as specified in motion 82-212, originally
presented to the Miami City Commission on 3/11/82.
Funds not to exceed $90,000 requested from Special
Programs & Accounts, - contingency funds.
The proposed budget for this promotion of the City of Miami
is as
follows:
Rental of Coconut Grove Exhibition Center for ten
