HomeMy WebLinkAboutR-82-07311 RESOLUTION NO. 82+-731 A RESOLUTION ACCEPTING THE FOLLOWING BIDS FOR FURNISHING SPECIAL POLICE VEHICLES FOR THE DEPARTMENT OF BUILDING AND VEHICLE MAINTENANCE; BID OF E.V.F., INC. FOR POLICE MAJOR CRIME SCENE AND MASS ARREST PROCESSING VEHICLE AT A COST OF $38,233.00; BID OF ARMORED VEHICLE BUILDERS, z INC. FOR POLICE ARMORED VEHICLE AT A COST OF $69,749.00; BID OF SIRCHIE FINGER PRINT LABS FOR SWAT TRANSPORTATION VEHICLE AT A COST OF $22,765.20; AT A TOTAL COST OF $130,746.20; ALLOCATING FUNDS FROM THE LOCAL CRIME CONTROL PROGRAM OF THE POLICE OPERATING BUDGET; AUTHOR- IZING AND DIRECTING THE CITY MANAGER TO INSTRUCT THE PURCHASING AGENT TO ISSUE THE PURCHASE ORDERS FOR THIS EQUIPMENT. 4 S WHEREAS, pursuant to public notice, sealed bids were re- ceived July 15, 1982 for the furnishing of Special Police Vehicles for the Department of Building and Vehicle Maintenance; and WHEREAS, invitations were mailed to 12 potential suppliers and 3 bids were received; and WHEREAS funds for this purchase are available in the Local Crime Control Program of the Police Operating Budget; and WHEREAS, this equipmentwill be used by the Department of Police for the purpose of normal and emergency Crime Control; and WHEREAS, the City Manager and the Department of Building and Vehicle Maintenance recommend that the bids received from E.V.F., Inc., Armored Vehicle Builders, Inc., and Sirchie Finger Print Labs be accepted as the most advantageous bids to the City; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORDIA: Section 1: The following bids are hereby accepted: E.V.F., Inc. for furnishing a Police Major Crime Scene and Mass Arrest Processing Vehicle at a cost of $38,233.00; Armored Vehicle Build- ers, Inc. for furnishing a Police Armored Rescue Vehicle at a cost of $69,738.00; Sirchie Finger Print Labs for furnishing a SWAT Transportation Vehicle at a cost of $22,765.20; at a total cost of $130,746.20, with funds therefor hereby allocated from the Local Crime Control Program of the Police Operating Budget. Gary Page 2 of 2 July 20, 1982 City Manager These purchases are necessary to provide normal and emergency Crime Control by the Department of Police as follows: Major Crime Scene and Arrest Processing Vehicle: To provide adequate technical capability at major crime scenes and mass arrest situations. JES:an Armored Rescue Vehicle: to provide a method for police and fire rescue personnel to respond to a hostile environment wherein civilian and/or police personnel may be trapped or under attack. SWAT Vehicle: to deploy SWAT Teams with equip- ment in certain circumstances. The SWAT Teams with equipment in certain circumstances. The SWAT detail does not now have an adequate vehicle for their 66eration.
