RESOLUTION NO.82-715
A RESOLUTION EXPRESSING THE DEEPEST SYMPATHY
AND SINCEREST CONDOLENCES OF THE CITY COM-
MISSION ON BEHALF OF THE CITY OF MIAMI AND
ITS CITIZENS TO THE MEMBERS OF THE FAMILY OF
DETECTIVE CHERYL SEIDEN UPON HER DEATH.
WHEREAS, Detective Cheryl Seiden joined the Dade County
Public Safety Department in 1975 and was an outstanding officer
who received numerous commendations for her work; and
WHEREAS, Detective Cheryl Seiden was an exemplary young
human being who spent many many hours of her own time working
with victims at the Jackson Memorial Rape Treatment Center;
and
WHEREAS, Detective Cheryl Seiden was a caring individual
involved in social and civic activities in the community;
and
WHEREAS, Detective Cheryl Seiden was shot and robbed on
August 14, 1982 and, after a valiant struggle to survive,
expired on July 28th; and
WEEREAS, Detective Cheryl Seiden was a victim of the crime
and violence she diligently strived to eradicate; and
WHEREAS, it is the desire of this Commission, on behalf
of the City of Miami and its citizens, to express its deepest
sympathy to the members of the family of Detective Cheryl
Seiden;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA:
Section 1. The Commission hereby conveys to the family
and friends of Detective Cheryl Seiden its deepest sympathy '
and sincerest condolences on behalf of the citizens of the
City of Miami upon her death.
Section 2. The herein Resolution is offed by the City
Commission as a token of its respect and esteem.
PASSED AND ADOPTED this 29th day of July, 1982.
