Bayshore Drive Miami, Florida 33133 Dear Mr. I Iowa rd , JOSE V. NAVARRO Executive Director Pursuant to our conversation of August 24th, we are requesting that the City of Miami consider our proposal to establish a Senior Citizens Center at blorningside Park. We expect to re- ceive $205,000 from the State of Florida, Department of Health and Rehabilitative Services, for acquisition, renovation or alter- ation of a Senior Center facility. Morningside Park is located in the targeted area for implementa- tion of this center, and we feel this would be a cost-effective method of providing services to the elderly of this colmmunity. Senior Centers of bade County, Inc., would assume responsibility For cost of operation, including personnel and provision of the following services hionday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.: Co-operative food Buying, Congregate deals, Home -Delivered Meals, Nutrition Education, Outreach Services, Refugee Social Ser- vices, Employment Services, Social Group Services, Adult Education, Recreation and Transportation.
