AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION i OF ORDINANCE NO. 8719, ADOPTED OCTOBER 26, 1977, THE SUMMARY GRANT APPROPRIA- TION ORDINANCE, BY INCREASING THE APPROPRIATION TO THE TRUST AND AGENCY FUND ENTITLED: "RECREATION PROGRAMS FOR THE MENTALLY RETARDED (6th YEAR)" BY $78,944.00, COMPOSED OF $67,444.00 FROM THE STATE OF FLORIDA: DE- PARTMENT OF HEALTH AND REHABILITATIVE SERVICES AND $11,500.00 FROM FISCAL YEAR 1982-83 SPECIAL PROGRAMS AND ACCOUNTS: MATCHING FUNDS FOR GRANTS, TO CONTINUE THE OPERATION OF SAME; CONTAINING A REPEALER PROVISION AND A SEVERABILITY CLAUSE. WHEREAS, the City Commission adopted Ordinance No. 8719 on October 26, 1977 es- tablishing resources and appropriations for grant funds anticipated by the City of Miami, Florida and for corresponding City Cash Match requirements and WHEREAS, the City Commission adopted Ordinance No. 9331 on October 7, 1981, es- tablishing a new trust and agency fund entitled: "Recreation Programs for the Mental- ly Retarded (6th Year)" and appropriated thereto a sum bf $348,767.00 composed of 5302,767.00 from the State of Florida: Department 9 Health and Rehabilitative Serv- ices and $46,000.00 from fiscal year 1981-82 S eci`a� Programs and Accounts: Matching 9 Funds for Grants; and t WHEREAS, this appropriation was Tade to cover the period October 1, 1981 through September 30, 1982; and 4 WHEREAS, the State of Florida, Department of Health and Rehabilitative Services has approved an additional giant award of $67,444.00 to the City of Miami for said program to cover the period October 1, 1982 through December 31, 1982; and WHEREAS, the State of'Florida, Department of Health and Rehabilitative Services == r requires the City of Mimi -'to contribute an additional $3,025.00 in certified public expenditlures toward the "Recreation Programs for the Mentally Retarded(6th year)" for the`�eriod beginning October 1 1982 and ending ember 31 � 9. 9 � g Dec 1982; and WHEREAS, a total of $11,500.00 has be budgeted in the Fiscal Year 1982-83 Gen - Al eral Fund, -"Special Programs and Accounts: Matching Funds for Grants as the City's j� contribution for recreation programs for the mentally retarded; and WHEREAS, this program will serve an unmet need by providing leisure services to mentally retarded adults; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA: Section 1.
