MONIES AVAILABLE FRO:•I BID "A" OF RIVERVIEW STORM
SFVER PROJECT, PHASE I (21NID BIDDING)
Since the Riverview Pump Station, located at N. W. 13 Avenue and
6 Street, was put into operation, we have had numerous and fre-
quent problems with the mechanical bar screen malfunctioning or
breaking down. The contractor and the bar screen manufacturer
are making modifications to the bar screen at no cost to the City
that will make it perform satisfactorily, but the bar screen's
frequent failures have pointed out to us the need for bypass
capability in the event the bar screen becomes clogged or inopera-
tive because of electrical power failure.
Additionallv, funds are needed to:
Reimburse the electrical contractor for permit fees
he had to pay, but had no opportunity to include them
in his bid.
Reimburse the contractor for Diesel fuel we instructed
him to purchase.
Make corrections to a settled wall footing around the
transformer pad.

Sake modifications to the woven wire cover over the
transformer pad. (Neighborhood children are using it
as a trampoline).
Purchase a high intensity drop light to become a part
of the station equipment.
The total of all the work above is estimated to be less than
$30,000.
We will request an increase in contract not tc exceed $30,000 for
the October 14, 1982 Commission Meeting. Funds for the increase
are available from the $100,000+ underrun we had on Bid "A" of
the Riverview Storm Sewer project.
