ORDINANCE NO.
AN ORDINANCE AMENDING (c) OF SECTION 3.5-23
_ OF THE CODE OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, BY ESTAB-
LISHING A SERVICE CHARGE FOR PROCESSING AND
ADMINISTERING PERMITS FOR ALARM SYSTEMS WITH
NO REPORTED FALSE ALARMS DURING THE PREVIOUS
YEAR; CONTAINING A REPEALER PROVISION AND A
SEVERABILITY CLAUSE.
WHEREAS, City Code Sections 3.5-21 through 3.5-30,
also referred to as the "Burglary and Robbery Alarm Ordi-
nance", established fees and requirements for all alarm
users within the confines of the City of Miami; and
WHEREAS, businesses and residences who, during the
course of the previous permit years have had no false
alarms have not been required to pay a permit fee for the
next permit year; and
WHEREAS, although the City of Miami recognizes and
appreciates this exemplary alarm system maintenance, there
continues to exist a cost to the City for processing, main-
taining, and administering these permits;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COMMTSSIOP: OF THE
CITY OF. MIAMI, FLORIDA:
Section 1. Subsection (c) of Section 3.5-23 of the
Code of the City of Miami, Florida, as amended, is hereby

further amended in the following particulars:
"Sec. 3.5-23. Alarm user permits required; fee;
renewal.
(c) All alarm user permits will expire on the
thirtieth day of September of each year and must be
renewed not later than the first day_ of October of
each year. Renewal permits will be issued after
completion of an application form and the payment of
a twenty-five dollar ($25.00) renewal fee; except
that permits for a premises that has had no false
alarm during the preceeding permit period will be
renewed upon completion of an application form tint-
wit-haae-atav and the payment of a ten dollar ($10.00)
renewal fee."
