A RESOLUTION ACCEPTING THE BID OF
ALTMAN-MYERS CONSTRUCTION, INC. IN
THE PROPOSED AMOUNT OF $622,900,
BASE BID PLUS ADDITIVE ITE,•I "A"
OF THE PROPOSAL, FOR NEW COI•li•IUNITY
BUILDINGS AND SW11,,•IING POOL RENOVATIONS;
WIT[I ,-IONIES THEREFOR ALLOCATED FROM
THE ACCOUNT ENTITLED "PARK REHABILITATION
FOR THOSE KITH SPECIAL NEEDS" IN THE
AMOUNT OF $622,900 TO COVER THE CONTRACT
COST; ALLOCATING FRONT SAID FUND THE
AMOUNT OF $59,175 TO COVER THE COST
OF PROJECT EXPENSE; ALLOCATING FRO:I
SAID FUND THE A,,IOUNT OF S12,458 TO
COVER THE COST OF SUCH ITEMS AS ADVER-
TISING, TESTING LABORATORIES, AND
POSTAGE; ALLOCATING FRO;I SAID FUND
THE AMOUNT OF $7,960 TO COVER THE
COST OF ARTWORK; AND AUTHORIZING THE
CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE A CONTRACT
WITH SAID FIRM
WHEREAS, sealed bids were received Septem-
ber 24, 1982 for NEW COMMUNITY BUILDINGS AND SWIMMING
POOL RENOVATIONS; and
WHEREAS, the City ,Manager reports that the
bid of Altman-Nevers Construction, Inc., for the base
bid plus Additive Item "A" of the proposal, is the
lowest responsible bid, and recommends that a contract
be awarded to said firm; and
WHEREAS, the Capital improvements Appropria-
tion Ordinance No. 9353, as amended, was adopted on
November 19, 1981, and monies are available for the
proposed amount of the contract, project expense, inciden-
tals, and artwork from the account entitled "Park Rehabili-
tation For Those With Special Needs", as set forth under
Section IX.B.i.13 of said ordinance;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION
OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA:

Section 1. The September 24, 1982 bid of
Altman -Myers Construction, Inc., in the proposed
amount of $622,900, for the project entitled NEW
COMMUNITY BUILDINGS AND SWIr IING POOL RENOVATIONS,
for the base bid plus Additive Item "A" of the proposal,
based on lump sum prices, is hereby accepted at the
price stated therein.
Section 2. The amount of $622,900 is hereby
allocated from the account entitled "Park Pehabilitation"
For Those With Special Needs" to cover the cost of
said contract.
Section 3. The additional amount of $59,175
is hereby allocated from the aforesaid fund to cover
the cost of project expense.
Section 4. The additional amount of $12,458
is hereby allocated from the aforesaid fund to cover
the cost of such incidental items as advertising,
testing laboratories, and postage.
Section 5. The additional amount- of $7,960
is hereby allocated from the aforesaid fund to cover
the cost of artwork;
Section 6. The City Manager is hereby
authorized to enter into a contract on behalf of the
City of Miami with Altman -Myers Construction, Inc.,
for NEW COHMUNITY BUILDINGS AND SWIrLNING POOL RENOVATIONS,
base bid plus Additive Item "A" of the proposal.

The Department of Public Works recommends
adoption of the resolution accepting the
bid of Altman -Myers Construction, Inc.
received September 24, 1982 for the base
bid plus Additive Item "A" in the amount
of $622,900; and authorizing the City
Manager to enter into a contract on
behalf of the City of Miami for NEW
COXMUNITY BUILDINGS AND SWI?2,11NG POOL
RENOVATIONS.
Bids were received September 24, 198-1 for constructing new
community buildings at West End and Curtis Parks; also make
swimming pool renovations at west End and Shenandoah Parks.
As reflected in the tabulation of bids, the $622,900 bid
of Altman -:Myers Construction, Inc. is the lowest responsible
bid for base bid plus Additive Item "A" of the proposal.
Funds have been allocated under the account entitled "Park
Rehabilitation For Those With Special Needs" for the
estimated amount of the contract, for project expense,
for such items as advertising, testing laboratories, postage,
and artwork.
