A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER
TO RESERVE THE $108,000 THAT HAS BEEN SET
ASIDE FROM THE CONSTRUCTION BUDGET OF THE
DOWNTOWN GOVERNMENT PARKING GARAGE NO. 2
FOR THE ART IN PUBLIC PLACES PROGRAM AND
USE THESE FONDS FOR THE ACQUISITION OF
ART AT A MORE APPROPRIATE TIMI; AND PLACE
IN THE CITY'S PORTION OF THE DOWNTOWN
GOVERNMENT CENTER COMPLEX.
WHEREAS, in accordance with Section 18-6 of the City Code,
$108,000 of the construction budget of the Downtown Government
Parking Garage No. 2 has been set aside for the Art in Public
Places Program; and
WHEREAS, it is the opinion of the Art in Public Places
Committee that there is no appropriate place for artwork in or
on the Downtown Government Parking Garage No. 2; and
WHEREAS, the Art in Public Places Committee has recommended
that the $108,000 designated for the acquisition of artwork for
the Downtown Government Parking Garage No. 2 be reserved and used
at a more appropriate date and place for the acquisition of art-
work in the City's portion of the Downtown Government Center
complex;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA:
Section 1. The City Manager is hereby authorized to reserve
funds in the amount of $108,000 from the construction budget of
the Downtown Government Parking Garage No. 2 for the Art in
Public Places Program and use these funds for the acquisition
of artwork at a more appropriate date and place in the City's
portion of the Downtown Government Center complex.
