WHEREAS, the City Attorney is desirous of securing
certain services which may be rendered by a Legal Assistant;
and
WHEREAS, the Legal Assistant is capable and desirous
of performing; such allied tasks as may be desired by the
City Attorney;
NOW, THEREFORE:, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CO1iMISSION OF THE
CITY OF ?1IA^11, FLORIDA:
Section I. The continued employment of Rodney Robinson,
Legal. Assistant, in accordance with the attached Memorandum
of Understanding: between the Cite Attorney and the said
individual, using, budgeted funds of the Law Department, is
hereby ratified, approved and confirmed.
Section 2. T'he City Manager is hereby authorized to
execute the necessary agreements to implement the herein
resolution.

This Memorandum oi: Understanding confirms the agree -
meat between JOSE R. GARCIA-PEDROSA, City Attorney (herein -
After referred to as the City Attorney) and ROD11EY ROBINSON
(hereinafter referred to as the Legal. Assistant).
I.1 I T N E S S E T H:
WHEREAS, the City.Attorney is desirous of securing
certain services which may be rendered by a Legal Assistant;
and
WHEREAS, the Legal Assistant is capable and desirous of
performing; such allied tasks as may be desired by the City
Attorney;
I4014, THEREFORE, in consideration of the mutual covenants
hereinafter set forth and for and in consideration of One
Dollar ($1..00) and other good and valuable considerations,
receipt of which is hereby acknowledged, the parties hereto
covenant and agree as follows:
The Legal Assistant agrees that he will perform law -office
related functions as required by the City Attorney and to
assist the legal i-nvestigative, administrative and clerical
staff of the City Att.orney's office as may be required.
The Legal Assistant agrees to devote his full time to
the performance of such duties as may he required. The time
devoted to such services shall be forty (40) hours per week.
The City Attorney agrees that lie will provide such
supervision and training as may be required to enable the
Legal Assistant to perform said functions as may be required.
The City Attorney agrees that the Legal Assistant will be
compensated at the rate of $6.00 per hour during his tenure as
a Legal Assistant.
I TH PARTIE'S AGREE that this agreement shall continue
from month to month anti may be terminated at any time by either
party upon written notification to the other party.

The legal Assistant shall not in any manner be con-
sidered to be an employee by the City of Miami. lie shall
not be entitled to anv benefits of any form or nature from
the City of Miami other than the compensation cited above.
In the event the Legal Assistant shall in the future
be appointed to employment by the City of Miami he shall
not accrue any seniority or other emoluments connected with
such employment by reason the services rendered under this
Agreement.
This Agreement shall be effective beginning October l
1982, and continue from week to week, unless and until termi-
nated as hereinabove stated.

This office has availed itself of the services of Rodney
Robinson, as Legal Assistant, since January 18, 1982.
In order to continue the employment of"ir. Robinson as
Legal Assistant, it i.s appropriate that the City Commission
authorize his services by adopting the attached resolution.
