OF THE CITY COMMISSION IN AUTHORIZING AN ADDITIONAL ONE -CENT SALES TAX TO FIi'ANCE CERTAIN SPORTS, ART, AND RECREATIONAL CENTERS; AUTHORIZING GEORGE NUNDE TO UPDATE HIS PREVIOUS STUDIES REGARDING SUCH PUBLIC IMPROVEMENTS; AUTHORIZING UP TO $25,000 FOR TILE REQUIRED STUDIES .AND INFORMATIONAL BROCHURES NECESSARY TO IMPLEC9ENT THE GOALS OF THE CITY COMMISSION WHICHBROC CURES ARE TO BE REVIEWED I3Y FAC}i CnTviISSIONER PRIOR TO DISTLRIBUTION THEREOF. WHEREAS, on September 23, 1982, the City Commission passed Resolution No. 82-882 calling for a special election to be held on the 14th day of December, 1982, for the purpose of submitting to the qualified electors of the City for their approval or disapproval, a one -cent sales tax, for one year only, to finance one or more of the following sports, arts, or recreational centers: the improvement of or addition to the Orange Bowl stadium, including new parkinq, seating, and facilities for ingress and egress; the construction of a coliseum; the construction of an outdoor amphi- theater; and WHEREAS, on September 23, 1982, the City Commission approved an ordinance on first reading authorizing, subject to the above referendum, said additional one -cent sales tax in the City of Miami, for a period of January 1, 1983 through December 31, 1983; and WHEREAS, said resolution shall be operative in the event that the electors fail to approve the County one -cent sales tax; and NOW, OF MIAMI, FLORIDA: Section 1. That the following persons are appointed to a technical committee to advise on the implementation of the goals and objectives of the City Commission in authorizing the additional one -cent sales tax.
