A RESOLUTION ACCEPTING THE BID OF NATIONAL LIFT TRUCK SERVICE FOR FURNISHING ONE ELECTRIC LIFT TRUCK AND BATTERY CHARGER TO THE DEPARTMENT OF CONFERENCES AND CONVENTIONS AT A TOTAL COST OF $16,993.00; ALLOCATING FUNDS THEREFOR FROM THE 1980 CITY OF MIAMI CONVENTION CENTER AND PARKING GARAGE REVENUE BOND FUND; AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER AND THE PURCHASING AGENT TO ISSUE A PURCHASE ORDER FOR THIS EQUIPMENT. WHEREAS, pursuant to public notice, sealed bids were received November 10, 1982 for the furnishing of one Electric Lift Truck and Charger to the Department of Conferences .and Conventions; and WHEREAS, invitations were mailed to 22 potential suppliers and 8 bids were received; and WHEREAS, funds for this purchase are available in the 1980 City of Miami Convention Center and Parking Garage Revenue Bond Fund; and WHEREAS, this equipment will be used by the Department of Conferencesand Conventions for the purpose of performing regular maintenance at the ;Miami Convention Center; and WHEREAS, the City Manager and the Department of Conferences and Conventions recommend that the bid received from National Lift Truck Service be accepted as the most advantageous bid to the City: PJOid, THE'REFORI:, 131: IT RESOLVED BY THE CO121ISSION OF THE CITY OF IIIIAIMI , FLORIDA: CITY COMMISSION MEETING OF. 0 E C 9 1982 Section 1. The November 10, 1982 bid of National Lift Truck Service for furnishing One Electric Lift Truck and Battery Charger to the Department of Conferences and Conventions at a total cost of $16,993.00 is hereby accepted with funds therefor hereby allocated from the 1980 City of Miami Convention Center and Parking Garage Revenue Bond Fund. Section 2. That the City Manager is hereby authorized to instruct the Purchasing Agent to issue a Purchase Order for this equipment. Pursuant to public notice, sealed bids were received November 10, 1982 for furnishing One Electric Lift Truck to the Department of Conferences and Conventions, Miami Convention Center. Invitations were mailed to 22 potential suppliers and 8 bids were received as listed on the award of bid. Five (5) "No Bids" and one (1) late bid were also received. This is a regular purchase of new equipment to be used by the Miami Convention Center Operations Division as part of daily maintenance. The battery charger is an optional item which should be purchased at this time to keep the Lift Truck in operating order. Funds for this purchase are available in the 1980 City of Miami Convention Center and Parking Garage Revenue Bond fund.
