WHEREAS, pursuant to public notice, sealed bids were received November 1, 1982 for the furnishing of Security Guard Services on a Contract Basis for One Year to the Office of Stadiums; and WHEREi%S, invitations were mailed to 28 potential suppliers and 15 bids were received; and WHEREAS, funds for this purchase are available in the 1982-1983 Operating Budget; and WHEREAS, this service will be used by the Office of Stadiums for the purpose of replacing discontinued in-house watchmen at the Orange Bowl Stadium; and WHEREAS, the City Manager and the Office of Stadiums recommend that the bid received from Andy Frain Services of Florida be accepted as the most advantageous bid to the City; NOv7, THEREFORE, L'E IT RESOLVED BY THE C01-2,1ISSION OF THE CITY OF IIIAIII , FLORIDA: CITY COMMISSION MEETING OE D E C 9 1982R ! FLORIDA INTER -OFFICE MEMORANDUM DATE November 22, 1982 FILE SUBJECT Recommendation for Resolution and Award of Bid: No. 81-82-153, Security Guard Service REFERENCES ENCLOSURES Award of Bid, Resolution and Bid Tabulation It is recommended that the award be made and a resolution be passed acceptine the most advantageous bid as received from Andy Frain Services of Florida for furnishing Security Guard Services at the Orange Bowl Stadium on a contract basis for one year at a total estimated cost of $32,120.00. Pursuant to public notice, sealed bis were received November 1, 1982 for furnishing Security Guard Services on a contract basis for one year to the Office of Stadiums. Invitations were mailed to 28 potential suppliers and 15 bids were received as per the attached tabulation. Four (4) "No Bids" were also received. A contract for security guard services is needed as soon as possible because the Office of Stadiums is converting from in-house watchmen to private security to reduce operating costs, using temporary private services in the interim. The security company will supply guards for a minimum of 112 hours per week at the Orange Bowl Stadium, and will also respond to alarms calls at the Miami Stadium when notified by that stadium's monitoring agency. Guards may also be used occasionally at the Marine Stadium when needed. This is to be a contract for one year, with pricing available for the next two consecutive years should the City exercise its option to extend the contract by mutual agreement. Funds for this purchase are available in the 1982-1983 Operating Budget of that Office. No proof of occupational license. 2. No financial statement. The bidder has submitted a written request to withdraw from consideration because of the cost of high insurance requirements for this contract. The next lower bidder, Andy Frain Services of Florida meets'all'the requirements and specifications.
