Although the Convention Center has not been presented to the City Commission for final approval, it is in the final stages with punch list items being corrected by the contractor. The World Trade Center Tower has not yet begun. The relationship between the City of Miami, Dade Savings and the U. S. Department of Housing and Urban Development regarding this project has been established primarily by Mr. Grimm. It is important to the best interest of the City that this continuity be preserved. Unfortunately Mr. Grimm is retiring on January 17, 1983. This contract will allow the City to still have his services available. The contract is broad enough that the City can assign to Mr. Grimm other special projects, if necessary or desirable. The contract provides for a fixed monthly payment of $2,500. Funds for this contract are available in the Convention Center parking garage and World Trade Center account. 8 3- 17
