CONSTRUCTION CORPORATION IN THE PROPOSED AMOUNT OF $851,727.00, TOTAL BID OF THE PROPOSAL, MINUS ALTERNATE ITEM 2, FOR THE COCONUT GROVE EXHIBITION CENTER - WEST COURTYARD ROOF (2ND BIDDING); WITH MONIES THEREFOR ALLOCATED FROM THE ACCOUNT ENTITLED"COCONUT GROVE EXHIBITION CENTER - ADDITIONAL WORK`,IN THE AMOUNT OF $851,727.00 TO COVER THE CONTRACT COST; ALLOCATING FROM SAID FUND THE AMOUNT OF $38,339.00 TO COVER THE COST OF PROJECT EXPENSE; ALLOCATING FROM SAID FUND THE AMOUNT OF $17,034.00 TO COVER THE COST OF SUCH ITEMS AS ADVERTISING, TESTING LABORATORIES, AND POSTAGE; AND AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE A CONTRACT WITH SAID FIRM WHEREAS, sealed bids were received on Decem- ber 21, 1982 for COCONUT GROVE EXHIBITION CENTER - WEST COURTYARD ROOF (2ND BIDDING); and WHEREAS, the City Manager reports that the bid of L.G.H. Construction Corporation, for the total bid of the proposal, minus Alternate Item 2, is the lowest responsible bid, and recommends that a contract be awarded to said firm; and WHEREAS, the Capital Improvements Appropriation Ordinance No. 9534, as amended, was adopted on December 9, 1982, and monies are available for the proposed amount of the contract, project expense, and incident�!]s, from the account entitled"Coconut Grove Exhibition Center - Additional Work", as set forth under Section IX.B.i.16 of said ordinance; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA: Section 1. The December 21, 1982 bid of L.G.H. Construction Corporation, in the proposed amount of CITY COMMISSIO14 1 MEETING OF JAN 13 0 0 $851,727.00, for the project entitled COCONUT GROVE EXHIBITION CENTER - WEST COURTYARD ROOF (2ND BIDDING), for the total bid of the proposal, minus Alternate Item 2, based on lump sum prices, is hereby accepted at the price stated therein. Section 2. The amount of $851,727.00 is hereby allocated from the account entitled"Coconut Grove Exhibition Center - Additional Work, to cover the cost of said contract. Section 3. The additional amount of $38,339.00 is hereby allocated from the aforesaid fund to cover the cost of project expense. Section 4. The additional amount of $17,034.00 is hereby allocated from the aforesaid fund to cover the cost of such incidental items as advertising, testing laboratories, and postage. Section 5. The City Manager is hereby authorized to enter into a contract on behalf of Thy: City of Miami with L.G.H. Construction Corporation received December 21, 1982 for the total bid of the proposal, minus Alternate Item 2, in the amount of $851,727.00; and author- izing the City Manager to enter into a contract on behalf of the City of Miami for COCONUT GROVE EXHIBITION CENTER - WEST COURTYARD ROOF (2ND BIDDING). Bids were received on December 21, 1982 for COCONUT GROVE EXHIBITION CENTER WEST COURTYARD ROOF (2ND BIDDING). This project is to construct a 28,000 square foot covered and air conditioned exhibition area on the west side of the auditorium. As reflected in the tabulation of bids, the $851,727.00 bid of L.G.H. Construction Corporation is the lowest responsible bid for the total bid of the proposal, minus Alternate Item 2.
