SETlVTCES TO THE SAME EXTENT SUCH TAX CURRENTLY APPLIES TO SOUTHERN BELL TELEPHONE AND TELEGRAPH COMPANY. WHEREAS, Florida municipalities are experiencing the effects of a nationwide recession, and WHEREAS, such municipalities receive relief in the form of a utility tax from Southern Bell Telephone and Telegraph Company, and WHEREAS, private telephone service is of }treat benefit in spurring competition for telephone service, NOW, THERE?FOKE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CT'l'1' 017 'MIAMI, FLORIDA: Section 1. The Cite of Miami hereby recommends to the Florida Legislature that legislation he enacted imposing a utility tag; on all private telephone services to the Same extant such tax currently applies to Southern Bell Telephone and 'Telegraph Comisatly.
