The City Commission now requires the Administration to evaluate all
requests for event funding prior to agenda scheduling. Certain information
is requested, as evidenced by the attached letter sent to all organiza-
tions or individuals requesting funding. We are now starting to receive
responses to those letters. The following procedure is suggested for
evaluation and recommendations:
1) Responses should be sent to the Cultural Division of the
Department of Recreation to determine compliance and make
certain all information requested has been provided.
2) A standard format should be developed (one page fact sheet)
identifying the event and number of people, etc. and amount
of funding together with the Administration's recommendation.
Referring these requests to the cultural events coordinator
provides continuity with the Festival Advisory Committee and
provides a single point clearing house in the City to eliminate
overlap and duplication of funding.
Please advise if this is satisfactory.
