A RESOLUTION ACCEPTING THE BID OF FLORIDA

AMOUNT OF $74,535.00, BASE BID OF THE
PROPOSAL, FOR THE DINNER KEY - PILE
REPLACEMENT; 14ITH MONIES THEREFOR ALLOCATED
FROM THE ACCOUNT ENTITLED "MAJOR MA114TENANCE -
DINNER KEY MARINA", IN THE AMOUNT OF
$74,535.00 TO COVER THE CONTRACT COST;
ALLOCATING FROM SAID FUND IN THE AMOUNT OF
$9,689.55 TO COVER THE COST OF PROJECT
EXPENSE; ALLOCATING FROM SAID FUND THE
AMOUNT OF $1,490.70 TO COVER THE COST OF _
SUCH ITEMS AS ADVERTISING, TESTING
LABORATORIES, AND POSTAGE; AND AUTHORIZING
THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE A CONTRACT WITH
SAID FIRM
WHEREAS, sealed bids were received on January 25,
1983 for DINNER KEY - PILE REPLACEMENT; and
WHEREAS, the City Manager reports that the bid of
Florida Marine Construction, Inc., for the base bid of the
proposal, is the lowest responsible bid, and recommends that a
contract be awarded to said firm; and
WHEREAS, the Capital Improvements Appropriation
Ordinance No. 9534, as amended, was adopted on December 9,
1932, and monies are available for the proposed amount of the
contract, project expense, and incidentals, from the account
i entitled "Major Maintenance - Dinner Key Marina", as set forth
under Section XV.B.1 of said ordinance;
NOW, TH;REFORE, BE IT RESOLED BY THE COM11ISSION OF THE
CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA:
Section 1. The January 25, 1983 bid of Florida Marine
Construction, Inc., in the proposed amount of $74,535.00, for
the project entitled DINNER KEY - PILE REPLACEMENT, for the
base bid of the proposal, is hereby accepted at the price stated
therein.
Section 2. The amount of $74,535.00 is hereby allocated
from the account entitled "Florida Marine Construction, Inc. to
cover the cost of said contract.

Section 3. The additional amount of $9,689.55 is
hereby allocated from the aforesaid fund to cover the cost of
project expense.
Section 4, The additional amount of $1,490,70 is
hereby allocated from the aforesaid fund to cover the cost of
such incidental items as advertising, testing laboratories,
and postage.
Section 5. The City Manager is hereby authorized
to enter into a contract on behalf of The City of Miami with
Florida Marine Construction, Inc., for DINNER KEY - PILE
REPLACEMENT, in the amount of $74,535.00, base bid of the
proposal.

ENCLOSURES.
The Department of Public Works recommends
adoption of the resolution accepting the
bid of Florida Marine Construction, Inc.
received January 25, 1983 for the base
bid of the proposal, in the amount of
$74,535.00; and authorizing the City
Manager to enter into a contract on behalf
of the City of Miami for DINNER KEY - PILE
REPLACEMENT.
Bids were received on January 25, 1983 for DINNER KEY - PILE
REPLACEMENT. This project is to replace deteriorated piles
and deteriorated wood piers.
As reflected in the tabulation of bids, the $74,535.00 bid of
Florida Marine Construction, Inc. is the lowest responsible
bid for the base bid of the proposal.
Funds have been allocated under the account entitled "Major
Maintenance - Dinner Key Marina", for project expense, for
such items as advertising, testing laboratories, and postage.
13 contractors and subcontractors picked up plans and
specifications; 7 contractors submitted bids.
The construction estimate is $100,000.00

DINNER KEY - PILE REPLACEMENT (B-2853) will

65 piles, and replacing 7 piers at the Dinner Key Marina,
located at S. W. 27 Avenue and Biscayne Bay.
All bids shall be submitted in accordance with the Instructions
to Bidders and Specifications. First set of plans and speci-
fications may be obtained free from the office of the Director,
Department of Public Works, 275 N. W. 2 Street (4th floor),
Miami, Florida, on or after January 6, 1983. There will be
a charge for additional sets. Plans and specifications are
to be returned in good order and unmarked within 10 days
after bids have been received.
Prospective bidders are alerted to the provisions of Ordinance
No. 9530 regarding allocation of contracts to minority vendors.
Those minority or target area contractors/small businesses
interested in submitting bids are advised to contact Contractors
Training and Development, Inc., 5800 N. W. 7 Avenue, Suite 212,
telephone (305) 754-4903, if they require assistance in preparing
their bid packages.

seran recibidas por el Administrador y el Secretario de la
Ciudad de Miami, Florida, a mas tardar a las 2:00 p.m. el dfa
25 de Enero de 1983, en la oficina del secretario, primer piso
ayuntamiento de Miami, 3500 Pan American Drive, Dinner Key,
Miami, Florida, a cual tiempo y lugar seran pGblicamente
abiertas y lefdas.
Este proyecto consiste en remover y reemplazar aproximadamente
65 pilotes y reemplazar 7 muelles en la marina de Dinner Key,
localizada en la Avenida 27 S.W. y la Bahia de Biscayne.
Todas las licitaciones seran sometidas de acuerdo con las
instrucciones a los Licitadores y las Especificationes. E1
primer juego de planos y especificaciones pods obtenerse gratis
en la oficina del Director de Obras Publicas, 275 N.W. 2 Street,
