REMARKS.
E
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA:
Section 1. The City Commission hereby approves the
selection by the Competitive Selection Committee of the
following firms as the most qualified to provide professional
engineering/survey services for City contracted construction
projects in the rank order listed:
1. Crowder, Mahoney, Makowski,
Rice and Associates
2. Schwebke-Shiskin and Associates
3. Biscayne Engineering Co.
Section 2. The City Commission hereby authorizes the
City Manager or his designee to negotiate a professional
services agreement on behalf of the City of Miami with the
rank ordered firms listed in Section 1 hereinabove for
engineering/survey services for City contracted construction
projects, beginning with the first rank ordered firm, for
such professional engineering/survey services as may be
required. During the negotiations procedure, in the event
that the City Manager cannot negotiate an agreement which, in
his opinion, is fair, competitive and reasonable, with the
first rank ordered firm, then he is hereby authorized to
terminate such negotiations and to proceed to negotiate with
the second most qualified firm. In the event that he fails
to negotiate a satisfactory contract with the second firm,
then he is hereby authorized to undertake negotiations with
the third firm until a fair, competitive and reasonable
agreement is reached.
Section 3. The City Manager is directed to present to
the City Commission the negotiated agreement at the earliest
scheduled meeting of the City Commission immediately
following the negotiation of the contract for approval by the
City Commission prior to execution.

CITY SURVEY SERVICES - Resolution
Approving City Manager's
Selection of Firm & Authorizing
Agreement Negotiation
(For Commission ;Ieeting of
March 18, 1983)
The Department of Public Works recommends
adoption of the Resolution approving the
City Manager's selection of the engineer-
ing and survey firm of Crowder, Mahoney,
Makowski, Rice and Associates, and authoriz-
ing the City Manager to negotiate an agree-
ment with said firm to perform survey work
in conjunction with a City project.
This department is insufficiently staffed to provide all the
surveys required for City projects in addition to the approximate
11 million dollars in contract work to be let before the end of
this year. It will be necessary to contract private firms to take
care of the overload.
As outlined in City Ordinance No. 8965, Procedure for Contracting
for Professional Services, the most qualified survey firm has been
selected. It is our intention to engage this firm to provide the
needed services.
Funds for this service can be made available as a project expense
from the funding of this contract,
