RESOLUTION NO. ilti'�I—A-r A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE PURCHASE OF SEVENTEEN (17) POLICE RADIOS AND ACCESSORIES FROM MOTOROLA COMMUNICATIONS AND ELECTRONICS, INC. UNDER STATE OF FLORIDA CONTRACT NO. 725-52-83-1, FOR THE DEPARTMENT OF BUILDING AND VEHICLE MAINTENANCE AT A TOTAL COST OF $37,417.00; ALLOCATING FUNDS THEREFOR FROM THE 1982-83 OPERATING BUDGET OF THE DEPART- MENT 01' POLICE; AUTIORIZING THE CITY MANAGER AND THE PURCHASING AGENT TO ISSUE A PURCHASE ORDER FOR THIS EQUIPMENT. WHEREAS, there is an existing State of Florida Contract, with Motorola Communications and Electronics, Inc. for furnishing Two -Way Mobile Radios; and WHEREAS, the requirements of the Department of Building and Vehicle Maintenance are equal to the Motorola MX Police radios and accessories available under said contract; and WHEREAS, funds for this purchase are available in the 1982-83 Operating Budget of the Department of Police; and WHEREAS, this equipment will be used by the Department of Building and Vehicle Maintenance for the purpose of providing the required equipment for new Police Vehicles; and WHEREAS, the City Manager and the Department of Building and Vehicle Maintenance recommend that the purchase from Motorola Communications and Electronics, Inc. be approved as the most advantageous to the City: NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA: CITY COMMISSION MEETING OF MAR 18 1983 w+v n0. The Purchase of Seventeen (17) Police Radios and Accessories from Motorola Communications and Electronics Inc. under a State of Florida Contract, No. 725-52-83-1, for the Department of Building and Vehicle Maintenance at a total cost of $37,417.00 is hereby approved with funds therefor hereby allocated from the 1982-83 Operating Budget of the Department of Police. Section 2. That the City Manager is hereby authorized to instruct the Purchasing Agent to issue a Purchase Order for this equipment. ATTEST: PASSED AND ADOPTED this 18 day of MARCH 1983. R E c F' `.." g EN..I.C' Resolution It is recommended that a resolution be passed authorizing the purchase of Seventeen (17) Police Radios and Acces- sories, from Motorola Communications_ and Electronics, Inc. under a State of Florida Contract No. 725-52-83-1, at a total cost of $37,417.00. This purchase is being made through the State of Florida Contract #725-52-83-1 which identified Motorola Communications and Electronics Inc. as the low bidder for this equipment. This equipment is being purchase for the Department of Building and Vehicle Maintenance. The purchase of police radios and related equipment is required due to the increase of police personnel and the addition of sev!Dnteen police patrol vehicles. The communications equipment is part of the normal equipment required in every police patrol cruiser. This purchase is being nade through the State of Florida Contract #725-52-83-1 which identified Motorola Communications and Electronics Inc. as the low bidder for this equipment. This equipment is being purchase for the Department of Building and Vehicle Maintenance. The purchase of police radios and related equipment is required due to the increase of police personnel and the addition of seventeen police patrol vehicles.
