HomeMy WebLinkAboutR-83-0192r J-83-89 6 RESOLUTION NO. �IL l-J� C A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE A PROFESSIONAL SERVICES CONTRACT WITH THE GEORGE BOLOTIN QUARTET FOR LIVE PERFORMAN- CES AT BOTH THE CITY OF MIAMI LEGION PARK AND STEPHEN CLARK BUILDING NOT TO EXCEED 74 DATES OR $7770.00, AS SPECIFIED, WITH FUNDING GENE- RATED FROM ADMISSION FEES, TERMINATING ON SEPTEMBER 30, 1983. SUBJECT TO THE AVAILABILITY OF FUNDS. WHEREAS, the City of Miami has obtained the services of the George Bolotin Quartet in the past via a direct payment method and policies now mandate said services under a professional services agreement; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA: Section 1. The City Manager is hereby authorized to execute a profes- sional services agreement between the City of Miami and the George Bolotin Quartet to provide a) performances at Legion Park at $120.00 each on Tuesday night not to exceed 37 dates or $3330.00 and b) performances at the Stephen Clark Building at $90.00 each on Friday nights not to exceed 37 dates or $4440.00, with a total compensation not to exceed $7770.00.1/ Section 2. Funding shall be those monies generated from the admission fees of said dances and shall be processed via the Recreation Special Acti- vities Trust Fund, Senior Adult Activities, Project #698001, Index 370454, Revenue Code 037039. Gary DATE January 26, 1983 FILE City Manager SU13JECT Professional Services Agreement George Bolotin Quartet L FROM: a H' t70 ai'd, Director REFERENCES Department of Recreation ENCLOSURES: 1 It is recommended that the City Manager be authorized to execute a Professional Services Agreement with the George Bolotin Quartet, to provide a live dance band at both the City of Miami Legion Park and Stephen Clark Building, Tuesday and Friday nights respectively during FY '83, not to exceed 74 dates or $7,770.00, from funds generated through admission, pur- suant to Ordinance No. 9478, Recreation Special Activities Trust Fund, Senior Adult Activities (Project 698001, Index 370454),as per the attached resolution. The City of Miami Department of Recreation has, for the past several years, obtained the services of the George Bolotin Quartet to provide live dance bands for the weekly dances at both the Legion Park and Stephen Clark Building. Policies now mandate that such services be contracted under a professional services agreement. It is, therefore, recommended that the City Manager be authorized to execute such an agreement for: 1) performances at Legion Park, $120 each, not to exceed 37 dates or $4,440; and 2) performances at the Stephen Clark Building, $90 each, not to exceed 37 dates or $3,300, with a total compensation not to exceed $7,770, to be funded from the monies generated from admission fees, as per the attached resolution.
