A RESOLUTION URGING METROPOLITAN DADE COUNTY
AND THE 1gJNICIPALITIES LOCATED WITHIN IT TO
ADOPT ORDINANCES SIMILAR TO MIAMI CITY ORDINANCE
NUMBER 9595 , WHICH FURTHER AMENDED CHAPTER
31 OF THE CODE OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BY REQUIRING,
AS A PRECONDITION FOR THE ISSUANCE OF OCCUPATIONAL
LICENSES TO LICLNSEES ENGAGED IN CERTAIN COM1TERCE
WITH CUBA, THE POSTING OF A B024D AND THE OBSERVANCE
OF OTHER REQUIREMENTS FOR THE PROTECTION OF
PERS014S DEALING WITH SUCH LICENSELS; A14D INSTRUCT-
ING THE CITY CLERIC TO DELIVER COPIES OF THIS
RESOLUTION AND OF 'AID ORDINANCE TO THE COMI11ISSIONS
OR COUNCILS OF METROPOLITAN DADE COUNTY AND ITS
MUNICIPALITIES.
WHEREAS, the Miami City Commission is considering
the adoption of Ordinance No.9595 , which further amended Chapter
31 of the Code of the City of Miami by requiring, as a precondition
for the issuance of occupational licenses to licensees engaged in
certain commerce with Cuba, the posting of a bond and the
observance of other requirements for the protection of persons
dealing with such licensees; and
WHEREAS, the problems which gave rise to the need
for said Ordinance are not limited to the geographic limits of
the City of Miami, but, to the contrary, extend to and exist
throughout Dade County; and
WHEREAS, the consistent and uniform application of
the remedies afforded by said Ordinance throughout Dade County
would result in increased benefits to all of the residents of
the City of Miami and of Dade County and its other municipalities;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CO11r1ISSION OF
THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA:
Section 1. Metropolitan Dade County and the other
municipalities located within it are hereby urged to adopt
ordinances similar to Miami City Ordinance No. 9595, which further
amended Chapter 31 of the Code of the City of "!iami by requiring,
as a precondition for the issuance of occupational licenses to
licensees engaged in certain commerce with Cuba, the posting of
a bond and the observance of other requirements for the protection
of persons dealing with such licensees.
Section 2. The City Clerk is hereby instructed to
deliver copies of this Resolution and of said Ordinance to the

commissions or councils of Metropolitan Dade County and its
municipalities.
PASSED AND ADOPTED on this 18 day of March, 1983.
