HomeMy WebLinkAboutR-83-0333J-83-287 rr M83-210 (3/18/83) RESOLUTION NO, �''k�-33 A RESOLUTION CONCERNING THE MIAMI SEAFOOD FESTIVAL WHICH IS TO BE HELD APRIL 9 AND 10, 1983, CLOSING CERTAIN STREETS TO THROUGH VEHICULAR TRAFFIC ON SAID DATE DURING THE HOURS FROM 10:00 A.M. TO 10:00 P.M. AND ESTABLISHING A PEDESTRIAN MALL, SAID STREET CLOSING SUBJECT TO ISSUANCE OF PERMITS BY THE POLICE DEPARTMENT AND THE FIRE, RESCUE AND INSPECTION SERVICES DEPARTMENT; FURTHER AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE AN AGREEMENT SETTING FORTH THE TERMS AND CONDITIONS UNDER WHICH THE CITY WILL GRANT PERMISSION FOR THE SALE OF BEER AND WINE AT SAID EVENT; FURTHER ESTABLISHING THE AREA PROHIBITED TO RETAIL PEDDLERS DURING THE PERIOD OF THE EVENT. WHEREAS, the City Commision, by Motion No. 83-210 on March 18, 1983, granted a request by representatives of the Miami Seafood Festival for closure of streets and permission for the sale of beer and wine on Saturday and Sunday, March 9 and 10, 1983; NOW, THEREFORE, RE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA: Section 1. In order to effectuate safe passage and establish a temporary pedestrian mall, during the Second Annual Carnaval Miami the following streets are hereby closed to through vehicular traffic on Saturday and Sunday, April 9 and 10, 1983 during the hours of 10:00 A.M. to 10:00 P.M.: S.W. North River Drive from Flagler Street to S.W. 2nd Street. such cl.)sing of streets being subject to the issuance of permits by the Police Department and the Fire, Rescue and Inspection Services Department. Section 2. The City Manager is hereby authorized to execute an agreement setting forth the terms and conditions under which the City will permit the sale of wine and beer on Saturday and Sunday, April 9 and 10, 1983 at said event. Section 3. Pursuant to the provisions of Ordinance No. 8851, enacted September 28, 1978, all retail peddlers' occupational licenses issued under the provisions of Chapter 31 of the City Code, as amended, will not be valid in the following designated area of the said festival during the dates and hours set forth in Section 1 hereof: S.W.
