IN THE PROPOSED AMOUNT OF $863,947.00, BID "A" OF THE PROPOSAL, FOR CENTRAL DRAINAGE PROJECT, E-53, WITH MONIES THEREFOR ALLOCATED FROM THE LOCAL DRAINAGE PROJECTS ACCOUNT IN THE AMOUNT OF $863,947.00 TO COVER THE CONTRACT COST; ALLOCATING FROM SAID FUND THE AMOUNT OF $112,313.00 TO COVER THE COST OF PROJECT EXPENSE; ALLOCATING FROM SAID FUND THE AMOUNT OF $17,280.00 TO COVER THE COST OF SUCH ITEMS AS ADVERTISING, TESTING LABORATORIES, AND POSTAGE; AND AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE A CONTRACT WITH SAID FIRM WHEREAS, sealed bids were received ?March 29, 1983 for CENTRAL DRAINAGE PROJECT, E-53; and WHEREAS, the City Manager reports that the bid of Golden Eagle Engineering Contractors, Inc., for Bid "A" of the proposal, is the lowest responsible bid, and recommends that a contract be awarded to said firm; and WHEREAS, the Capital Improvements Appropriation Ordinance No. 9534, as amended, was adopted on December 9, 1982, and monies are available for the proposed amount of the contract, project expense, and incidentals, from the account entitled Local Drainage Projects, as set forth under Section V, Item B.5, of said ordinance; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA: Section 1. The March 29, 1983 bid of Golden Eagle Engineering Contractors, Inc. in the proposed amount of $863,947.00, for the project entitled CENTRAL DRAINAGE PROJECT, E-53, for the Bid "A" of the proposal, based on lump sum and unit cost items, is hereby accepted at the price stated therein. Section 2. The amount of $863,947.00 is hereby allocated from the account entitled Local Drainage Projects to cover the cost of said contract. Section 4. The additional amount of $17,280.00 is hereby allocated from the aforesaid fund to cover the cost of such incidental items as advertising, testing laboratories, and postage. Section 5. The City Manager is hereby authorized to enter into a contract on behalf of The City of Miami with Golden Eagle Engineering Contractors, Inc. for CENTRAL DRAINAGE PROJECT, E-53, for Bid "A" of the proposal. Gary City Manager Donald W, Cath- • • ��.�. •rks 0 March 31, 1983 CENTRAL DRAINAGE PROJECT E-53 BID "A" - Resolution Awarding Contract (For April 6, 1983 Commission Meeting) The Department of Public Works recommends adoption of the resolution accepting the bid received March 29, 1983 of Golden Eagle Engineering Contractors, Inc. in the amount of $863,947.00, and authorizing the City Manager to enter into a contract on behalf of the City of Miami for CENTRAL DRAINAGE PROJECT, E-53, Bid "A" of the proposal. Bids were received March 29, 1983 for CENTRAL DRAINAGE PROJECT E-53. This project consists of constructing 25 local drains within the area bounded by N. 36 Street, Biscayne Bay, S. 8 Street and W. 27 Avenue and 16 local drains outside this area by private contractor under contract with the City. As reflected in the tabulation of bids, the $863,947.00 bid of Golden Eagle Engineering Contractors, Inc. is the lowest responsible bid for Bid "A" for the proposal. Bid "B" of the proposal is being awarded under separate contract. Funds have been allocated under the Local Drainage Projects Account for the estimated amount of the contract, for project expense, for such items as advertising, testing laboratories postage. 34 contractors picked up plans and specification; 11 contractors su itted bids.
