A RESOLUTION ORDERING ALLAPATTAH INDUSTRIAL
AREA HIGHWAY IMPROVEMENT - PHASE I, H-4485
AND DESIGNATING THE PROPERTY AGAINST WHICH
SPECIAL ASSESSMENTS SHALL BE MADE FOR A
PORTION OF THE COST THEREOF AS ALLAPATTAH
INDUSTRIAL AREA HIGHWAY IMPROVEMENT DISTRICT -
PHASE I, H-4485.
WHEREAS, the overall condition of several of the street
rights of way in the industrial zoned area of Allapattah has
deteriorated; and
WHEREAS, the deteriorated streets have parkways in poor
condition due to extensive on -street parking, pavement that is
out of grade or off -center, and extensive drainage problems; and
WHEREAS, the proposed improvements will include new
asphaltic pavement, concrete sidewalk, storm drainage facilities,
curbs and/or gutters and landscaping; and
WHEREAS, the Association Del Distrito Comercial E Indus-
trial De Las Americas contacted and met with City officials and
staff expressing their desire to have the streets and parking
conditions in the Allapattah industrial area improved in an
expeditious manner; and
WHEREAS, the Off -Street Parking Authority has agreed to
provide $500 per now, paved, on -street parking space up to a
maximum of $200,000 for parking improvements in the area; and
WHEREAS, ALLAPATTAH INDUSTRIAL AREA HIGHWAY IMPROVEMENT -
PHASE I, H-4485 is included in the City of Miami's Capital Improve-
ment Program.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA:
Section 1. A local improvement described as ALLAPATTAH
INDUSTRIAL AREA HIGHWAY IMPROVEMENT - PHASE I, H-4485, shall be
made under Section 56 of the Charter of the City of Miami, as
amended, located in the area bordered by N.W. 20 Street, N.W. 21
Terrace, N.W. 17 Avenue and N.W. 27 Avenue.

Section 2. This improvement shall include clearing
and grading, construction of asphaltic concrete pavement,
concrete curbs and/or gutters, concrete sidewalk, storm drainage
facilities and landscaped areas.
Section 3. This improvement shall be designated in all
proceedings and assessments as ALLAPATTAH INDUSTRIAL AREA HIGH-
WAY IMPROVEMENT - PHASE I, H-4485 and the property against which
special assessments shall be made for a portion of the cost there-
of, hereunder shall be designated as ALLAPATTAH INDUSTRIAL AREA
HIGHWAY IMPROVEMENT DISTRICT - PHASE I, H-4485 with the following
property descriptions by lot and block number constituting all of
the pieces of property affected by the said improvement:

The Department of Public Works recommends adoption
of a resolution ordering the ALLAPATTAH INDUSTRIAL
AREA HIGHWAY IMPROVEMENT - PHASE I, H-4485, in the
ALLAPATTAH INDUSTRIAL AREA HIGHWAY IMPROVEMENT
DISTRICT - PHASE I, H-4485.
In a continuing effort to serve the residents of the City of Miami, a local improvement
described as ALLAPATTAH INDUSTRIAL AREA HIGHWAY IMPROVEMENT - PHASE I, H-4485 is being
proposed as an assessable improvement under Section 56 of the Charter of the City of
Miami. This district is bordered by N.W. 20 Street, N.W. 21 Terrace, N.W. 17 Avenue and
N.W. 27 Avenue.
The overall condition of several of the street rights -of -way in this area has deteriorated.
Side Parkways are in poor condition due to extensive on -street parking, pavement is out of
grade and/or off -center, and drainage problems are extensive.
All of these problems will be corrected by ALLAPATTAH INDUSTRIAL AREA HIGHWAY IMPROVEMENT -
PHASE I, H-4485. The proposed construction will include asphaltic pavement, concrete side-
walk, concrete curbs and/or gutters, storm drainage and landscaping.
The Association Del Distrito Comercial E Industrial De Las Americas contacted and met with
City officials and staff expressing their desire to have the streets and parking conditions
in the Allapattah industrial area improved in an expeditious manner. The Off -Street Park-
ing Authority has agreed to provide $500 per new paved, on -street parking space up to a
maximum of $200,000 for parking improvements in the area.
ALLAPATTAH INDUSTRIAL AREA HIGHWAY IMPROVEMENT - PHASE I, H-4485 is included in the City of
Miami's 1982-1988 Capital Improvement Program. The construction of this improvement will
be funded by Highway and Storm Sewer General Obligation Bond Funds.
This improve;rient shall be designated in all proceedings and assessments as ALLAPATTAH
INDUSTRIAL AREA HIGHWAY IMPROVEMENT - PHASE I, H-4485 and the property against which special
assessments shall be made for a portion of the cost thereof, shall be designated as
ALLAPATTAH INDUSTRIAL AREA HIGHWAY IMPROVEMENT DISTRICT - PHASE I, H-4485.
