Gary March 18, 9834T ;LE City Manager Purchase of Six Base Station Repeaters - C. E.Cox' D' ector Building and Vehicle Maintenance - One It is recommended that the award be made and a resolution be passed accepting the most advanta- geous bid as received from Motorola, Inc., for the purchase of Six (6) Base Station Repeaters, at a cost of $40,260.00. Pursuant to public notice, three bids were received for providing replacements for obsolete radio and repeater base station equip- ment in the Fire and Police radio communications systems. These will replace existing ten year old repeaters that are obsolete and beyond economic repair. They will minimize down -time and maintenance costs, as this equipment requires continuous duty. Motorola, Inc. is the lowest acceptable bid conforming to all specifications and is recommended for this award. The General Electric Co. bid was the lowest, but did not conform to all speci- fications as well as output power. Funds for this purchase were approved in the current operating budget of the Building and Vehicle Maintenance Department. cc: A. Mullins 63--3©1
