Purchase of Transmission
Test Bench.
One
It is recommended that a resolution be passed
authorizing the purchase of a Transmission Test
_ Bench from Aidco Inc, the lowest acceptable bidder.
The price is $6,742.00.
Pursuant to public notice, three bids were received on January
26, 1983 for providing a Transmission Test Bench for the Depart-
ment of Building and Vehicle Maintenance. This item is a new
and additional piece of shop equipment for the Heavy_ Equipment
Maintenance Division. It will be used to calibrate and adjust
valve bodies in Allison Automatic Transmissions.
The addition of this equipment will enable us to perform a
service, in-house, which currently is being accomplished by an
outside vendor. There is only one vendor currently known who
performs this service locally and the price for this service
has tripled in a one year period.
At the current cost for the outside service the purchase price
of this equipment will be recovered in twelve months.
Funds for this purchase are available within the Department of
Building and Vehicle Maintenance current operating budget.
