HomeMy WebLinkAboutR-83-0417J-83- 318 RESOLUTION NO. �• 1 •' A RESOLUTION ACCEPTING THE COMPLETED WORK OF MARTIN VILA & ASSOCIATES, INC. AT A TOTAL COST OF $70,716.50 FOR LITTLE HAVANA COMTIUNITY CENTER MINI -PLAZA (2ND BIDDING); AND AUTHORIZING A FINAL PATMENT OF $7,593.65. WHEREAS, there exists a contract dated October 6, 1982 between the City of Miami and Martin Vila & Associates, Inc.; and WHEREAS, the work has been satisfactorily completed, and Martin Vila & Associates, Inc. has furnished the required documents certifying that all bills for labor and materials have been paid in dull in connection with the aforesaid contract; and WHEREAS, the City Manager and the Department of Public Works recommend that the completed work be accepted and final payment made to the contractor; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COTITIISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA: Section 1. the completed work performed by Martin Vila & Associates, Inc. for LITTLE HAVANA COT21UNITY CENTER MINI -PLAZA (2ND BIDDING) at a total cost of $70,716.50 is hereby approved. Section 2. The proper officials of the City of Miami are hereby authorized to pay $7,593.65 to Martin Vila & Associates, Inc. as full and final payment for all work performed and all materials furnished in connection with LITTLE HAVANA COMMUNITY CENTER MINI -PLAZA (2ND BIDDING), PASSED AND ADOPTED this 12th day of May 1983. Cat er REcERENCES (For Commission Meeting of D' ctor o c Works ENCL0SLRE5 May 12, 1983) The Department of Public Works recommends the adoption of the resolution accepting the completed work and authorizing a final payment of $7,593.65 to Martin Vila and Associates, Inc. for LITTLE HAVANA COMMUNITY CENTER - MINI -PLAZA (2ND BIDDING) Martin Vila and Associates, Inc. has completed the project con- sisting of constructing a small plaza complete with concrete paving and platform, lighting, planters, irrigation, information and vending kiosks, trash receptacles, drainage, and landscap- ing. The project is located on the west side of the Little Havana Community Center, 900 S. W. First Street. The source of funds is the 4th, 5th, 8th Year Federal Community Develop- ment Block Grant Funds. The original contract amount was $70,752.00, and the completed amount is $70,716.50. It was completed on time.
