EN:LGSURES Award of Bid, Resolution
and Tabulation
It is recommended that the award of bid and a resolution
be passed accepting the most advantageous bid as received
from PMS Enterprises for furnishing the photographic
printer and accessories as a one time purchase at a total
cost of $6,893.15.
With our present equipment, we have been required to individually test each
enlarged photograph which required the extensive use of very expensive chem-
icals and many man hours.
This photographic printer will enable us to omit this testing procedure and
also automatically enlarges the print to three different sizes in a matter
of minutes.
This equipment will be used by our fire photographer who responds to major
emergency calls, rescue operations and arson investigations. Many of these
photographs are used in recruit training as well as in-service training.
Funds for this purchase are provided in Proj. #350076-280113-840, which is
the Fire Training Facility appropriation from Fire Bonds.

The absolute lowest bid received, from Image
Devices International, is incomplete. This
company bid one item only, and that particular
item is available from other bidders at a
lower price.
VWR Scientific submitted low bids for items
2, 3, 7 and 13. However, that company's bid
for the lenses, items 2 and 3 did not meet
specifications and the savings realized by
splitting the award for items 7 and 13.is
only $11.57, thus is not justified.
The lowest bid overall was submitted by
PMS Enterprises, Inc. and is recommended.
All other bids meet the specifications.
