A RESOLUTION ACCEPTING THE BID OF ATLANTIC
RADIOTELEPHONE, INC. FOR FURNISHING ELECTRONIC
MARINE RADIO EQUIPMENT TO THE DEPARTMENT OF
POLICE AT A TOTAL COST OF $5,201.38;
ALLOCATING FUNDS THEREFOR FROM THE PRIOR YEAR
RESERVE FUND; AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER
AND THE PURCHASING AGENT TO ISSUE A PURCHASE
ORDER FOR THIS EQUIPMENT.
WHEREAS, pursuant to public notice, sealed bids were
received. May 12, 1982 for the furnishing of Electronic Marine Radio
Equipment to the Department of Police; and
WHEREAS, invitations were mailed to 6 potential
suppliers and 3 bids were received; and
WHEREAS, funds for this purchase are available in the
Prior Year Reserve Fund; and
WHEREAS, this equipment will be used by the Department
of Police for the purpose of providing communications and increased
efficiency on the newly purchased Marine Patrol Boat; and
WHEREAS, the City Manager and the Department of Police
recommend that the bid received from Atlantic Radiotelephone, Inc.
be accepted as the most advantageous bid to the City;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by THE COMMISSION OF
THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA:
Section 1. The May 12, 1983 bid of Atlantic Radio-
telephone, Inc. for furnishing Electronic Marine Radio Equipment

to the Department of Police at a total cost of $5,201.38 is
hereby accepted with funds therefor hereby allocated from the
Prior Year Reserve Fund.
Section 2. That the City Manager is hereby authorized
to instruct the Purchasing Agent to issue a Purchase Order for this
equipment.
PASSED AND ADOPTED this 12th day of I'iay 1983.

It is recommended that the award
be made and a resolution be
passed accepting the most
advantageous bid as received from
Atlantic Radiotelephone, Inc.
for furnishing Marine Patrol
Radio Equipment at a total cost of
$5,201.38.
Pursuant to public notice, sealed bids were received on May 12,
1962 for furnishing electronic radio equipment and Atlantic
Radiotelephone, Inc. will honor this quote until May 15, 1983.
This is a regular purchase of new equipment that is needed to
be installed in the new Marine Patrol vessel that is being
readied for use by the City of Miami, Marine Patrol. r
These items will be funded out of previously encumbered funds from
last year which were approved by the City Commission.
This equipment is needed by this unit for the safety of the officers
lives and protection of the citizen of the City of Miami. The total
marine electronics package will increase efficiency in the Marine
Patrol Detail while providing service to the marine community.
