GARCIA-PEDROSA, CITY ATTORNEY J 59 To Howard V. Gary City Manager CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA INTER -OFFICE MEMORANDUM FROM Robert D. Krause, Director Department of Human Resources DATE May 24, 1983 FILE SUBJECT Resolution to Extend Entrant Impact Aid Program REFERENCES. ENCLOSURES. Resolution I i ! .. It is recommended that the City Commission adopt a Resolution authorizing the City Manager to extend all Entrant Impact Aid Program agreements for professional job training services from July 1, 1983, through July 31, 1983, with funds needed for said extension to be taken from the City's 1983-84 allocation for this program. The South Florida Employment and Training Consortium has announced plans to begin the second year of the Entrant Impact Aid Program on July 1, 1983, after extending the first year for 30 days through June 30, 1983. The Consortium will not be making 1983-84 allocations for this program until the middle part of June, 1983. Given the time needed by City staff to make recommendations for sub -allocating our 1983-84 funds, it will not be possible for the City Commission to approve sub -allocations to training organizations until the City Commission meeting scheduled for July 18, 1983. Our current contracts with the organizations that are providing training under this program will be expiring on June 30, 1983. In order to continue participants in training without interrup- tion, as the Consortium intends, it will be necessary to extend our contracts for 30 days through July 31, 1983. The funds needed for this extension will be taken from the City's 1983-84 allocation for this program.
