ENCLOSURES
"It is recommended that financial assistance
in the amount of $500,000 be requested from
the Land and Water Conservation Fund Program
for the development of Jose Marti Riverfront
Park."
The Parks Department has been notified of the availability of
funds for park development through the Land and Water Conser-
vation Fund Program. The deadline for submission of application
is June 15, 1983. These funds were made available as a result
of Public Law 98-8, Emergency Jobs Legislation, which also
carries special provisions for the level of unemployment
within the applicant's locality and for the speed with which
the project can be implemented.
The Department has originated a grant application for a
$1,000,000 project to complete the development of Jose Marti
Riverfront Park on a 50/50 matching basis. The City's match
will be met through the $500,000 direct appropriation received
from the State of Florida in 1982.
