WHEREAS, the City Commission adopted Ordinance No. 9534 on December 9, 1932, establishing resources and appropriations for the implementation of Capital Improvements in the City of Miami, Florida, for the fiscal year ending September 30, 1983; and WHEREAS, the 1932-1938 Capital Improvement Program was approved in prin- ciple by the City Commission on December 9, 1982 by Resolution No. 82-1144; and WHEREAS, the Allapattah Industrial Area Street Improvements capital project is presently scheduled in the Capital Improvement Program for Fiscal Year 1984-1985; and WHEREAS, the Association Del Distrito Comercial E Industrial De Las Americas contacted and met with City official's and staff expressing their desire to have the streets and parking conditions in the Allapattah Industrial Area, bounded by N.W. 17th Avenue, N.W. 23rd Street, N.W. 27th Avenue, and N.W. 20th Street, improved in an expeditious manner; and WHEREAS, the Off -Street Parking Authority has agreed to provide $500 per new paved,on-street parking space up to a maximum of $200,000 for parking improvements in the area; and WHEREAS, the Departments of Public Works and Planning have agreed to expedite construction of the project by rescheduling the design portion to begin this fiscal year with construction beginning in fiscal year 1983-1984; and WHEREAS, construction of local street improvements will include asphaltic concrete pavement for on -street parking and traffic lanes, sidewalks, curbs and gutters, necessary drainage, and landscaping; and 'WHEREAS, an amount of $50,000 is necessary for the design of the Allapattah Industrial Area Street Improvements capital project; and •sasudiaµl3 AB[I0WN.A..,M„ 'IHLREA`?, an amount o1 ':,kO.(nu iS availah Q and can he dparopri0ed for the aforementinned purpose from Sale of 1990 Highway Bonds in Section XIX. 19RO highway General Obligation Bond Fund; NEW, THEREFORE, RE IT ORDAINED BY THE COMNISSInn OF THE CITY OF "1IAMI, FLORIDA: Section 1 of Ordinance No. 9534, adopted December 9, lgp2, is hereby amended in the following particulars: "Section 1. The following appropriations hereby made by fund and project title include previously authorized projects and find appropriations for implementation of all municipal capital improvements of the City of Miami, Florida. Gary DATE March 23, 1983 FILE City Manager 5U9JF Amendment to Capital Improvement Appropriations Ordinance No. 9534 F RO Ni eo Ro z, Director RLFERENCES For City Commission Meetinq of anning Department April 6, 1983 ENCLOSURES It is recommended that the attached Amendment to Capital Improvement Appropriations Ordinance No. 9534, adopted December 9, 1982, as amended, be approved to appropriate an amount of 50,000 from the 1980 Highway General Obligation Bond Fund, Sale of 1980 Highway Bonds, to establish Allapattah Industrial Area Street Improvements as a new capital project in said bond fund. The Association Del Distrito Comercial E Industrial De Las Americas (The Commercial and Industrial District Association of the Americas in Allapattah) contacted and met with City officials and staff expressing their desire to have the streets and parking conditions in the Allapattah Industrial Area improved. The industrial area is bounded by N.W. 17th Ave., N.W. 23rd St., N.W. 27th Ave., and N.W. 20th St. Presently, this capital project is scheduled for FY 1984-1985 as it appears in the Miami Capital Improvement Program 1982-1983, adopted in principle by Resolu- tion 82-1144 on December 9, 1982 by the City Commission. The Departments of Public Works and Planning have agreed to expedite the project by rescheduling the design portion to begin this fiscal year with construction beginning in FY 1983-1984. The Offstreet Parking Authority has agreed to provide S500 per new paved, on -street parking space up to a maximum of $200,000 for parking improve- ments in the area. The local street improvements will include asphaltic concrete pavement for on -street parking and traffic lanes, sidewalks, curbs and gutters, necessary drainage, and landscaping. The design portion of this project, to begin this fiscal year, is estimated at $50,000. The amount of $50,000 is available from the 1980 Highway General Obligation Bond Fund, Sale of 1980 Highway Bonds. It is recommended that an amount of $50,000 from the 1980 Highway General Obli- gation Bond Fund (Section XIX.) be appropriated to establish Allapattah Indus- trial Area Street Improvements as a capital project so that the design phase may begin. It is requested that this Ordinance be scheduled on the City Commission meeting of April 6th, 1983.
