WHEREAS, the Civil Servir.e Board, on J u n P 7, 1983,
unanimously recommended the approval of employment past. the
aqe of 70 for Robert Owens, Typist. Clerk TT1, Department of
Law; and
WHEREAS, the City Physician has determined that the
physical condition of said Robert Owens is satisfactory for
continued employment;
NOW, THEREFORE, RE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA:
Section 1. A two (2) year extension of employment past
the aqe of 70 is hereby granted for Robert Owens, Typist
Clerk III, Department of Law, effective May 18, 1983 through
May 18, 1985, with the provision that in the event of a
rollback or layoff, Robert Owens, rather than a junior
employee, would he affected.
PASSED AND ADOPTED this 15thday of June , 1983.

on Request for Extension of
Etrployment for Robert Owens,
Typist Clerk III, Department

terretary of Law, from May 18, 1983 Civil Service Board to May 18, 1985.
At its meeting of June 7, 1983, the Civil Service Board considered the request of
Robert Owens, Typist Clerk III in the Department of Law, for an extension of em-
ployment past the age of seventy (70) for a period of two (2) years, to be ef-
fective May 18, 1983 to May 18, 1985.
The Board noted that Jose R. Garcia -Pedrosa, City Attorney, had recommended ap-
proval of the request and that Dr. J.A. 11ilera, City Physician, had found Mr.
Covens physically qualified to continue employment for the additional two (2)
years.
The Board voted to approve the request, with the provision that in the event of
a rollback or layoff, Mr. Owens, rather than a junior enplcyee, would be affected,
noting that this is in accordance with past policy.
