W. 10 AVENUE; WITH MONIES THEREFOR ALLOCATED FROM THE ACCOUNT "CITYWIDE SANITARY SEWER EXTENSIONS IMPROVEMENTS" IN THE AMOUNT OF $5,961.40 TO COVER THE CONTRACT COST; ALLOCATING FROM SAID FUND THE AMOUNT. OF $775.00 TO COVER THE COST OF PROJECT EXPENSE; ALLOCATING FROM SAID FUND THE AMOUNT OF $119.60 TO COVER THE COST OF SUCH ITEMS AS ADVERTISING, TESTING LABORATORIES, AND POSTAGE; AND AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE A CONTRACT WITH SAID FIRM WHEREAS, sealed bids were received May 24, 1983 for CITY-WIDE SANITARY SEWER EXTENSION - N. W. 10 AVENUE; and WHEREAS, the City Manager reports that the bid of D.M.P. Corporation, for the base bid of the proposal, is the lowest responsible bid, and recommends that a contract be awarded to said firm; and WHEREAS, the Capital Improvements Appropriation Ordinance No. 9534, as amended, was adopted on December 9, 1982, and monies are available for the proposed amount of the contract, project expense, and incidentals from the account entitled "Citywide Sanitary Sewer Extensions Improvements", as set forth under Section IV, B.4 of said ordinance; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA: CITY COMMISSION MEETING OF J U N 15 1983 RMLWION Nu. 83-532-- kEMARKS A A Section 1. The May 24, 1983 bid of D.M.P. Corporation, in the proposed amount of $5,961.40, for the project entitled CITY-WIDE SANITARY SEWER EXTENSION - N. W. 10 AVENUE for the base bid of the proposal, based on unit prices, is hereby accepted at the price stated therein. Section 2. The amount of $5,961.40 is hereby allocated from the account entitled "Citywide Sanitary Sewer Extensions Improvements" to cover the cost of said contract. Section 3. The additional amount of $775.00 is hereby allocated from the aforesaid fund to cover the cost of project expense. Section 4. The additional amount of $119.60 is hereby allocated from the aforesaid fund to cover the cost of such incidental items as advertising, testing laboratories, and postage. Section 5. The City Manager is hereby authorized to enter into a contract on behalf of The City of Miami with D.M.P. Corporation for CITY-WIDE SANITARY SEWER EXTENSION - N. W. 10 AVENUE - Resolution Awarding Contract (For Planning and Zoning Commission Meeting of June 15, 1983) • The Department of Public Works recommends adoption of the resolution accepting the bid received May 24, 1983 of D.M.P. Corporation in the amount of $5,961.40; and authorizing the City Manager to enter into a contract on behalf of the City of Miami for CITY-WIDE SANITARY SEWER EXTENSION - N. W. 10 AVENUE. Bids were received May 24, 1983 for construction of a sanitary sewer extension by private contractor in N. W. 1.0 Avenue between 37 Street and 38 Street. As reflected in the tabulation of bids, the $5,961.40 bid of D.M.P. Corpor- ation is the lowest responsible bid for base bid of the proposal. Funds have been allocated under the account "Citywide Sanitary Sewer Extensions Improvements" for the estimated amount of the contract, for project expense, and for such items as advertising, testing laboratories, and postage. Seven contractors picked up plans and specification; 5 contractors submitted bids. The engineer's estimate was $8,000.00. The project consists of: + 135 linear feet of 8-inch vitrified clay pipe sewer, and one (1) manhole with deepest cut being at 6 ± feet. All bids shall be submitted in accordance with the Instructions to Bidders and Specifications. First set of plans and speci- fications may be obtained free from the office of the Director, Department of Public Works, 275 N. W. 2 Street (4th floor), Miami, Florida, on or after May 12, 1983. Additional sets may be obtained for a $20 deposit each. Deposits will be refunded only upon return of plans and specs, unmarked and in good condition within two (2) weeks after the opening of the bids.
