AN ORDINANCE ESTABLISHING A NEW SPECIAL REVENUE FUND ENTITLED: "CABLE TV LEGISLATIVE EFFORT - 98TH CONGRESS"; APPROPRIATING FUNDS FOR ITS OPERATION IN THE AMOUNT OF $50,000, FROM REVE- UES AVAILABLE FROM CABLE TV LICENSE FEES FOR THE PURPOSE OF ADVISING LEGISLATORS OF THE CITY'S POSITION REGARDING PROPOSED FEDERAL LEGISLATION AFFECTING CABLE TELEVISION AND THE CITY'S REGULATION THEREOF; AND AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER AND CITY ATTORNEY TO EXECUTE AGREE- , 14ZNTS FOR PROFESSIONAL SERVICES AS NEEDED TO CARRY OUT THIS PURPOSE; CONTAINING A REPEALER PROVISION AND A SEVERABILITY CLAUSE. WHEREAS, S.66, as amended and passed by the U.S. Senate on June 14, 1983 would have severe adverse impact upon the City of Miami's ability to protect consumers through regulation of its cable television licensee; and WHEREAS, S.66 has been referred to the U'i'8.
