CORPORATION IN THE PROPOSED AMOUNT OF $29,323.00, BASE BID PLUS ADDITIVE ALTERNATE A OF THE PROPOSAL, FOR UPARR - HANDICAPPED ACCESS IMPROVEMENTS - PACKAGE "C"; WITH MONIES THEREFOR ALLOCATED FROM THE "PARK REHABILITATION FOR THOSE WITH SPECIAL NEEDS" ACCOUNT IN THE AMOUNT OF $29,323.00 TO COVER THE COST OF THE CONTRACT; ALLOCATING FROM SAID FUND THE AMOUNT OF $2,932.00 TO COVER THE COST OF THE PROJECT EXPENSE; ALLOCATING FROM SAID FUND THE AMOUNT OF $785.00 TO COVER THE COST OF SUCH ITEMS AS ADVERTISING, TESTING LABORATORIES, AND POSTAGE; AND AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE A CONTRACT WITH SAID FIRM WHEREAS, sealed bids were received June 24, 1983 for UPARR - HANDICAPPED ACCESS IMPROVEMENTS - PACKAGE "C"; and WHEREAS, the City Manager and the Director of the Department of Public Works recommend that the bid received from P.N.M. Corporation be accepted as the lowest responsible and responsive bid; WHEREAS, the Capital Improvement Appropriation Ordinance No. 9534, as amended, was adopted December 9, 1982, and monies are available for the proposed amount of the contract, project expense, and incidentals from the account entitled "Park Rehabilitation for Those With Special Needs" as set forth under Section IX, Item B.i.13, of said ordinance; NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA: CITY COMMISSION MEETING OF J U L 18 1983 RESOLJIWii Hu. 83-6bE REMARKS. Section 1. The June 24, 1983 bid of P.N.M. Corporation, in the proposed amount of $29,323.00, for the project entitled UPARR - HANDICAPPED ACCESS IMPROVEMENTS - PACKAGE "C", for the base bid plus Additive Alternate A of the proposal, based on lump sum prices, is here- by accepted at the price stated therein. Section 2. The amount of $29,323.00 is hereby allocated from the account entitled "Park Rehabilitation for Those With Special Needs", to cover the cost of said contract. Section 3. The additional amount of $2,932.00 is hereby allocated from the aforesaid fund to cover the cost of project expense. Section 4. The additional amount of $785.00 is hereby allocated from the aforesaid fund to cover the cost of such incidental items as advertising, testing laboratories, and postage. Section 5. The City Manager is hereby authorized to enter into a contract on behalf of the City of Miami with P.N.M. Corporation for UPARR - HANDICAPPED ACCESS IMPROVEMENTS - PACKAGE "C", base bid plus Additive Alternate A of the proposal. PASSED AND ADOPTED this 18th day of July , 1983. Cather Director of PuKil)Works SUBJECT UPARR - HANDICAPPED ACCESS IMPROVEMENTS - PACKAGE "C" - Resolution Awarding Contract REFERENCES: ENCLOSURES: (For Commission Meeting of July 18, 1983) The Department of Public Works recommends adoption of the resolution accepting the bid received June 24, 1983 of P.N.M. Corporation in the amount of $29,323.00; and authorizing the City Manager to enter into a contract on behalf of the City of Miami for UPARR - HANDICAPPED ACCESS IMPROVEMENTS - PACKAGE "C". Bids were received June 24, 1983 for making various improve- ments in order to aid the handicapped at Robert King High Park, W. Flagler Street and N. W. 69 Avenue; Kinloch Park, 455 N. W. 47 Avenue; and Flagami Park, S. W. 2 Street and S. W. 71 Avenue. As reflected in the tabulation of bids, the $29,323.00 bid of P.N.M. Corporation is the lowest responsible bid for the base bid plus Additive Alternate A of the proposal. Funds have been allocated under the "Park Rehabilitation for Those With Special Needs" account for the estimated amount of the contract, for project expense, and for such items as advertising, testing laboratories, and postage. Twenty-two contractors picked up plans and specifications; 5 contractors submitted bids. The engineer's estimate was $48,000.00.
