FOR FURNISHING 4,675 POTTED TREES TO THE DEPARTMENT OF PARKS AT A TOTAL COST OF $8,690.47; ALLOCATING FUNDS THEREFOR FROM THE FIFTH YEAR COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT NURSERY AND TARGET AREA WIDE TREE PLANTING PROJECT FUND (PHASE III); AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER AND THE PURCHASING AGENT TO ISSUE A PURCHASE ORDER FOR THESE MATERIALS. WHEREAS, pursuant to public notice, sealed bids were received April 16, 1983 for the furnishing of 4,675 rotted Nursery Trees to the Department of Parks; and WHEREAS, invitations were mailed to 26 potential suppliers and 3 bids were received; and WHEREAS, funds for this purchase are available in the Fifth Year Community Development Nursery and Target Area Wide Tree Planting Project Fund (Phase III); and WHEREAS, these materials will be used by the Department of Parks for the purpose of building inventory at the City Nursery for Community Development Landscaping projects; and WHEREAS, the City Manager and the Department of Parks recommend that the bid received from Recio and Associates, Inc. be accepted as the most advantageous bid to the City; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA: Section 1. The April 26, 1983 bid of Recio and Associ- ates, Inc. for furnishing 4,675 Potted Nursery Trees to the Department of Parks at a total cost of $8,690.47 is hereby accept- ed with funds therefor hereby allocated from the Fifth Year Community Development Nursery and Target Area Wide Project Tree Planting Fund, Phase III. Pursuant to public notice, sealed bids were received April 26, 1983, for furnishing 4,675 potted trees to the Department of Parks. This is a single purchase to be used by the Department of Parks in establishing a City Nursery for the propagation of low maintenance trees to be used in landscaping all Community Development projects throughout the City. Funds are available for this purchase from Sth year Community Development Nursery and Target Area Wide Project Tree Planting, Phase III. 83-6151.
