T ION. WHEREAS, there exists a contract dated April 29, 1981 between the City of 14iami and the First Florida BuiIriinq Corporation in the amount of $1,8181600 for the construction of the Fire Rescue Training Center; and WHEREAS, a final and additional increase in the contract of $73,690.73 was required to provide for additional work and modifications due to unforeseen conditions; and WHEREAS, the City Manager has made a written finding that a valid emergency existed under the cirmstances; and WHEREAS, the Directors of the Departments of Public Works and Fire, Rescue and Inspection Services recommend the increase in contract to cover the additional cost; and WHEREAS, funds to cover the increase in contract are available from appropriations to the Fire Training Facility and Closed Circuit Television Project provided by Ordinance No. 9469, dated July 22, 2982; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA: Section 1. After a properly advertised public hearing, the finding of the City Manager set forth in the preamble to this Resolution is hereby'ratified by an affirmative vote of 2/3rds of the City Commission and adopted as if fully set forth in this Section. (For Commission Meeting of September 7, 1983) The Department of Public Works and the Department of Fire Recommend the adoption of a resolution authorizing an increase in contract of $73,690.73 in the contract between The City of Miami and First Florida Building Corporation for the construction of Fire Rescue Training Center, funds for the increase to be provided entirely by appropriations to the Fire Training Facility and Closed Circuit Television project, provided by Ordinance No. 9469 dated July 22, 1982. There exists a contract dated April 29, 1981 between The City of Miami and First Florida Building Corporation in the amount of $1,818,600 for the construction of the Fire Rescue Training Center, We are now asking for a final increase in contract in the amount of $73,690.73 that will cover all of the additional payments due the contractor for additional work and changes in work that were required to complete the facility. A detailed breakdown of all of the extra work which necessitated the final increase is attached. Funds for the increase have already been appropriated by Ordinance No. 9469 dated July 22, 1982, and the Director of the Department of Fire Rescue and Inspection Services concurs with my recommendation that the increase be authorized.
